  • this is when we miss some of those guys we let walk in exchange for pure pass rushers. Stopping the run is a thing for us again. Just when we did something finally well.....we tear it up a year later

  • Well they traded Shelton for some soap and hand towels

and meder, and our best edge defender Nassib. We brought in zettel and odenigbo who i dont even think has been suited up yet. We have sht depth now because of those preseason moves.

getting rid of meder and nassib was head scratching.

I wouldn't say our rush D is as bad as it's been in the past.

Melvin Gordon is just a beast and our edge defenders cant stop the run.

Yup and Carl Davis was inactive again today.

  • nassib was no world beater but he would abs have been in there alot today and he would have stifled tbe run.

"WILLIAMS WILL HAVE THAT DEFENSE WHIPPED UP INTO A FRENZY"

    -Tom Foolgel-

Seriously, Williams BLOWS. Garrett truly is a Zumba homosexual. He has 1move, and one ise. On running plays he is a tuna in a shark tank. Really, the word is out on this cunnt. He is a pushover in the scrum.

  • Ghoolie, so desperate for attention, goes on the Tavern after everyone is gone to troll under some fake name.

Even for you, that's pretty pathetic, Bitch Tits.

Dude, no fake neam, Vesna Kociper is my sign in name. That was known to all as that's what I chose. Zomblow changed the show name to Ghoolie when he begged me to return and start posting. I didn't die a fukcking thing.

My goodness, what a pathetic, sad little man you are.

Everyone knows you begged Stan to get back on here. That's why people point and laugh at you when you post.

"Oh look, it's Bitch Tits rambling on again!"

the pure pass rushers as you say stink...they can't even come close to the qb except for garrett every once and a while....so now we have pass rushers in which i agree with you on that that suck rushing the qb and they are absolutely horrible in stopping the run.....way to go front ofc....again.......

yeah, i mean you could see giant gaps on the dl before the snap....i was like...ok, do you think rivers does not see that at  the los....said to myself on many of their runs...that here comes at least a 15-20 yd run even before the ball was snapped....ugh....

  • I posted after the first game this season that our run defense was poor. Well, this week we ran into an great QB and running backs who could exploit it.

  • i honestly loathe some of the guys here that last year said "so fukking what" that our D was 6th against the run. U build on that. The great defenses all started doing one thing really good then added pieces where they werent good.

i have no explanation for todays loss 9f the edge on both sides. The chargers used their TE's to double up the edge protectors and williams made no attmp evidently to help them. I dunno....i need the all-22 on this one cause i couldnt figure it out from the broadcast angle

I've seen plays where Collins and Coley taking plays off. Schobert being blocked. I think it's definitely a talent deficit.

Also I see no vocal leader on defense. Offense got Baker. The D doesn't have a Brian Dawkins/Ray Lewis who just have that sense of command.

  • I struggle to remember a game like yesterday. Perhaps my brain just expunged the awful memories, but whatever.

I thought that after the Oakland game, maybe our defense was exposed and we weren't as good on D as we hoped we were. However, the next week we played incredibly well against the Ravens, and I thought maybe we just had a bad game. Now yesterday was beyond awful, and I'm hoping we get back on track in Tampa. If Tampa lights us up, and they have the weapons to do it, it might be a longer season than I expected.

Jameis Winston puts the ball in harm's way, we just need to make the plays. We might have 16 turnovers this year, but we have ZERO defensive TDs. We need to figure out a way to return some of these to the dam house. Every week I see defensive TDs, and it's time for us to get in on the action. I have no way of looking this up, but I would almost guarantee that we have set a record for fewest points off of 16 turnovers. I think we have scored 20 points off our 16 forced turnovers, or something like that. It doesn't even make sense.

  • Sometimes you tip your hat to the other guy... LAC game-planned and attacked us like no other team has this season. Their Jet sweep execution was perfection. And on more converntional sweeps they repeatedly helped our front seven's outside D take itself out of the play. Our CBs often crashed, taking out lead blockers, but no one was there to clean up.

That said... you shouldn't have to tip your hat for more than a couple drives, let alone all game long. And now that we've been exposed, Williams & Co. had better come up with an answer and install it this week.

As for any fall off in our run D... and before this Sunday I would argue that the fall off has not been that great... you pick your poison so long as you lack the horses to dictate play... and we don't have all the pieces... not yet.

Yes, we stuffed the inside run last season and Nassib was a better edge setter than Ogbah, but we did not generate enough pass rush, so we bitched about that.

We still have positions to upgrade and until we do some opponent will "solve us".

i.understand nassib not starting, but his level of reps in preseason games was perfect....i thought he fit oerfectly as the guy that subs all over the line and while he might not scare anyone north to south, his east/west pursuit of the ball was second to none on this team.

It killed me they let him walk simply cause we had "waiver priority", which i didnt know was a thing. But dorsey wanted to.gobble up everyones leavins i guess

  • calm down susan, 2-3 weeks ago u were slowly working urself down on garrets cok while reaching behind u to play with his balls, it was real sweet like we all agreed.

Anyway, we know u dont know alot about what goes on when the ball is snapped but those of us that have an idea at least, saw exactly how the chargers neutralized garrett. Im a greg williams fan, i like his defenses....he's more tgan a head hunter his team defense records speak for themselves. He creates a top 10 defense wherever he goes.

But sunday he got outcoached. He let his star pass rusher get schemed without any adjusting at any point in the game.
