  • He's a PUNK.

BE is not going anywhere, this year.

  • Marshall has off the field problems, but he is a team player when he is on the field. The current issue is money. For those watching the Broncos closely, it is becoming apparent that Shanahan made some promises before he left that Bowlen/McDaniels are not at this point honoring.

Weigman, Cutler, and Marshall have all approached this as if they already had new contracts lined up. Further, Marshall really deserves one. With all of his incentives he made 2.2 mil last year, chump change for a truely talented WR. Marshall is guilty of very bad timing with this holdout/trade request though. During the chaos of this off season was not the time to press the issue, but with his rookie contract coming to an end, combined with the uncertainty of a new scheme and Qb, it could be a very down year for Brandon.

I don't blame him for trying to cash in on his previous success, particularly when lack of success this season is likely, and he could take a massive hit on his contract as a result. The two biggest knocks on him, off the field antics and the recent hip surgery could be address in a new contract. I personally think the Broncos should compensate him for the surgery, our medical staff misdiagnosed him and then we rode him like a rented mule, so I think he deserves something for that. The off the field antics are another story of course, but having a large chunk of money being conditional on him not being suspended could address that easily.

I think Marshall will be gone within the week. McDaniels doesn't like this kind of player, but there are plenty of other teams who would. I think a trade to the Ravens is a real possiblity, and that Flacco to Marshall could be a very bad thing for you guys. I hope I am wrong, mostly for your sake, and because I think McDaniels could get fleeced int he trade.

  • Although the broncos may not want to get rid of marshall would he fit on our team maybe a trade of BE for marshall. just a thought. would he fit mangini's smart and team player mold for the team?

As far as this goes, if McDaniels gets rid of him, I would bet Mangini passes, they have the same type of player in mind, and McDaniels view on it would taint Marshall for Mangini I think. I disagree that he is "not a team player", but I can definately see how the coaches could view it as such, and if one leans one way, the other is likely to do the same.

If he really wants out of Denver all he has to do is beat up a girl... again... how hard is that? One punch and he's a free agent. Sheesh! Some guys have no initiative.

How about pulling this after the team having his back big time through all his transgressions of spousal abuse? They even had PR people speaking to the victim and her family. I don't know if anybody saw this on Sportscenter or not.

  • Donte or Marshall

I'm thinking Donte way before i'm thinking Marshall.

  • Marshall has absolutley no memory of all the BS that he put the Bronco's through and their subsequent support of him.

He has averaged 103 catches and over 1200 yards the last two season. Still, he can't stop hitting women, so how long does he have until he is gone for a full season.

Not a strong negotiating position when you wiegh cost vs reward.

  • Denver set a really bad precedent with Cutler.. No way they let Marshall out of town.. every player unhappy in Denver will then expect the same treatment.. Marshall is coming off a hip surgery for crying out loud.. He plays in a game where your legs are everything.. add that to the contract whining, beating his girlfiend up, 2-3 other run in's with the police.. OH YEAH>> he's a Mangini kind of guy.. What are you NUTS??? NO WAY.... Let the Bronco's deal with the head case.. We don't need him..don't want him.

  • Brandon To The Browns?

Posted by Mike Florio on June 16, 2009, 10:09 p.m.

The rumor mill continues to churn regarding potential destinations for Broncos receiver Brandon Marshall.

Last night, we heard that the Ravens might be interested. Tonight, we’re hearing rumblings of Brandon possibly being traded to the Browns.

The package would include, per the rumor, Browns kick returner/receiver Josh Cribbs and one or more draft picks.

Such a move also would likely put Braylon Edwards in play for a trade elsewhere.

Maybe, in the end, to Baltimore?

  • not one cleveland trade rumour came true, nor did any of the draft rumours

Im convinced that no one knows anything, I call shenanigans

  • This makes no sense on several levels:

    1) Brandon Marshall doesn't fit the type of player the Browns GM/coach value; He's selfish and stupid.

    2) While a special teams player for a #1 caliber WR makes sense, the Browns would be weakening their strength in the process

    3) Why on EARTH would they trade Braylon Edwards within the division?

  • I just don't see this happening because he seems to be a head case with domestic abuse cases an all. Granted it's all allegedly but ur significant other calls the police and files the charges and then they are dismissed or dropped is a lil fishy to me. I just don't see this being the type of player mangini pursues. I could be wrong. I didn 't realize his numbers though. He's got top 3 numbers in almost every category over the past 2 years. It's impressive but I don't know if it's worth the gamble..

  • I read that too. I really don't see it. We don't even know if the guy's hip has healed properly. not to mention the multitude of other issues that come with this guy.

  • when they make these predictions of trade....they simply look at who they *think* needs a receiver.

they're not taking into account mangini's demand of character.....they're not taking into account the 2 rookies we cant stash on the practice squad.

they only see a team last year that had no receivers.

  • Dude had an 18-reception game... no matter how Retarded he is, you gotta consider that trade.

Dude punched out a broad...that is Retarded, consider that. 😒

  • If Marshall indeed does not fit Mangini's concept of a good player, I can still see him feigning interest to bump the price up for the Ravens. Sending Braylon to Baltimore and taking Marshall makes no sense to me; is that really much of an upgrade, if at all? One star headcase receiver for another?

  • Hmmm.

Per the rumor, how bad did he beat he girlfriend?

Did she deserve it? Just curious but is all his excess baggage been taken care of?

If by chance he were to come to Cle. what type of person is he? We all know he can play.
