Des Harrison

Don't know if hes the worst but he has to be up there. I agree with you 100% with them playing Bitonio all preseason that was a head scratcher. He just seems real real lazy at times out on the field
The Browns seemed to think Thomas was going to play forever... I wanted them to take the kid from Wisconsin the year before as his eventual replacement. The left tackle position was handled very poorly from GM to the coaching staff.
As I said before, Bitonio flat-out said in an interview MONTHS before training camp that he is not a NFL left tackle, and his left tackle days were long gone. Still, they continued on because they didn't have much choice. (Harrison was hurt for weeks of TC).

Not only that, Bitonio trained all off season to go against the DT body types that weigh between 340 and 380 lns with shorter heights that promote leverage advantages. Therefore, the ole "Hey, btw you're now going to be our LT after Coleman failed the first 2 weeks of training camp" - isn't enough time to give us anything better than choosing between the least of 2 evils inclusive of 1 of them preferring to play the OG position he trained for all year.
There's some potential in our UFA LT. He's had some good games too when everyone was healthy. FWIW, UFA Tony Jones took way more than 8 weeks when he became a very reliable LT here as did some other LTs we've had not named Joe Thomas.

Potential? He’s 25 he’s not going to get a huge lot of better
-
harrison is lost at LT......
-
its hard to imagine an blocking scheme that says let bud dupree or tj watt run free at baker and help chip bitonios assignment.

Look, they were getting pressure on Baker all day, from almost everywhere. If you want to kill him for the holding in the end zone, be my guest. The line was getting overpowered after the first drive.

1st and goal from the 1 Chubb up the middle gets hit before he gets the ball the interior line and fullback Ray Charles gets blown out

Regardless of his age, this is his rookie year.
Look, he had a bad game today and he's probably got some mistakes you can remember every week. That said, he's also played some good football for us. He needs to pack on some strength in the off season and continue to work on his fundamentals which will take more than 8 weeks. Film study will also be a huge factor in his development. I don't see this as impossible.
-
Phew
Definitely going to have to get his replacement via draft.
-
What concerns me more than anything is how Harrison isn't progressing week to week. You'd like to see him getting better, and that's not what is happening.

Has to be the worst LT in the NFL
Absolutely baffling why Bitonio played LT pre season and it was changed before the opener. Hubbard isn’t much better on the other side either.
Just put the #33 pick in at LG and get him NFL game reps. It can’t be any worse.

this guy is the equivalent of lt shelton.....remember him...probably the worse rt ever to play in the nfl....only this is worse because it is bakers blind side.....look out baker, here comes another steamroller to cream ya....

The best thing about all of this is the use of Pete Smith's Twitter... He's a hack local JV coach who fancies himself as some kind of draft guru. I knew him for years on the message board mjp and I were from, spent at least 5 or so drafts with him, and just shook my head at some of the absolutely idiotic opinions he had that he would never change. Guy loved Barkevious Mingo more than PoG loves Barkley and Hogan combined, and argued for years about the genius of Eric Mangini and his GM moves. When Joe Banner got fired he acted like a petulant child for years after, his dream of a nerd with no football experience somehow getting to the top of a NFL team was crushed with his firing...

Why does this guy even matter and why mention him?

For some reason LondonBridge loves to quote him, like his opinion should carry weight here.
Trust me, I know this guy. It shouldn't.
Fair enough!
-
That’s not an opinion by PS, it’s a fact based quote regarding a contract. And one I was glad to see because Hubbard is terrible.
-
Move him to the defense !!
