  • I don't know how defenses will stop them, seriously. Not just the talent, but the

    team player/want to win attitudes.

odd, they are going to start winning towards the playoffs, and Duke wants traded.

    whatever.

Cause Duke knows he wont be an active part of the playoff push unless theres an injury. No matter how good he plays backing up chubb, 8 games in and he's out of the picture. He's just being real

And yeah, if this team doesnt at least push on some offensive records, its cause of the coaches. The talent is unreal. If the offense sputters kitchens is gone after one year. With the window we have, Dorsey will move on a new coach next year if we dont AT LEAST make the plsyoffs

Pretty time tested way to stop a team you can't go 1 on 1 with their weapons for - beat them up front and hassle the QB.      Seahawks made Manning look how good again?

    Expectations are so ridiculously high.....

In comes the running game.....that's why expectations are so high. Because we have the potential running game to protect Baker. And manning was at the end of his career. The better analogy would be how the Pat's handled him in his prime. Yes they pressured him but the colts def was rubbish so the offense had to throw to keep up with Brady. And Belichick used the running game against a shit run def to keep manning off the field.

The ONLY ? On the team is the o line. If they can give Baker any time whatsoever it's a wrap.

I don't know if we will be record setting.  I think we have a chance to set some team records for sure.

Either way, we should be pretty damn exciting to watch.

The two most prolific offenses in Browns history were the 1946 (30.2 ppg) and 1960 (30.1 ppg) teams.

That's 483 points in a 16 game season. No Kosar or Sipe team even hit 400 points... The '08 Derek Anderson team had 402.

Bsker threw ~30 td's last year missing 3 games and not having obj to throw to. It's not inconceivable that he breaks the single season mark with this year's wr's  plus having Hunt/chubb to potentially throw to.

The Browns should have an exciting offense, but everyone with these monumental expectations are basing that ON PAPER.

I'll use a couple examples that will show exactly how lofty this talk could be.

How is it that Appalachian State beat Michigan? They certainly didn't have the same amount of talent.

Or let's use an even bigger disparity. How is it that High School teams with many D1 scholarship players gets beat by teams that have far less, or even players that either will be small college players or not play after high school?

There are many reasons why, but one is chemistry and how they fit together. The best professional example I can come up with is Golden State. They are still the overwhelming favorite, but a lot seem to think they are beatable, and this is AFTER adding another All Star. All 5 starters are all stars, and 3 of them talked about as near the top of their position (just like the ranking of top players that was on here a couple weeks ago for QB, RB, WR).

But back to some of the other things that may seem lofty. The "tape on Lamar, others now", well the same would go for Baker.

There is also where A LOT of guys need to learn to play together, and co exist with their roles. Its not as easy as these guys are all really good individuals.

I certainly see it as lofty thinking BM can get close to TD record. Its crazy to me to think that. He had 27 in 2018, Manning had 55. So Manning averaged 3.4 a game, Baker averaged 2.1.

Let the guys play together before putting unreal expectations on them where they don't reach them, which then gives people a reason to downgrade them.

Also, I remember the countless talk about how the Browns HAD to keep Hue because of their history of premature firing of coaches. Now we have "if they don't meet expectations, they have to get rid of FK after 1 year"

So what I read from that is that if the Browns don't reach these lofty expectations, it has to be the coaching, it cant be that the expectations were too high.

The ONLY reason is Kitchens, nothing else. Before he has ever stepped foot on a NFL field as a head coach he is already on the hot seat.

All this and I think the Browns will do well, but I know there is more to it than what some expect.
