Survey Sunday

The Browns Board
6 4 274
  • Doing this survey on a Sunday for the first time.  Give your answer/opinions:

    1. Which of the Brown's new acquisitions...by trade/FA/Draft   will have the biggest impact on the team this coming year?

    2. If you were not a Browns fan......if you are one, which other NFL team, if any would you be a fan of?

    3. Have you either played  football above the high school level....or coached football at any level?

    4. Besides Tom Brady....with his good looks, his hot wife, his money, his fame...and not least of all, his incredible success......is there any  football player, past or present whose life you would want to emulate?

    5. The current Jeopardy Champion was asked what he will be doing with some of the money he won, and he stated: My wife and family and I will be doing "Year of WOW".....and he explained that that will be where they will choose 12 cities over the world where they will spend a month each, just taking in everything about that city: the culture, atmosphere, attractions, food, etc. etc. So....if YOU were able to do the same for whatever the reason (like winning the lottery), which 12 cities would you choose to spend a month in for each? Anywhere in the world. WOW!!

  • 1. Which of the Brown's new acquisitions...by trade/FA/Draft   will have the biggest impact on the team this coming year?

I most look forward to see what it is about Takitaki that lit a fire under Dorsey to get him that high.

    2. If you were not a Browns fan......if you are one, which other NFL team, if any would you be a fan of?

Easy for me since I have been a Denver fan since attending their preseason camps in Greeley, Colo. in the late 70's.

    3. Have you either played  football above the high school level....or coached football at any level?

HS only and taught everything I knew to my son who is a middle school football coach who also scouts the opposition for a very good HS team.

    4. Besides Tom Brady....with his good looks, his hot wife, his money, his fame...and not least of all, his incredible success......is there any  football player, past or present whose life you would want to emulate?

Always been a fan of Gale Sayers who still has high reverence for his close friendship with Brian Piccolo.

    1. Which of the Brown's new acquisitions...by trade/FA/Draft   will have the biggest impact on the team this coming year?

    Beckham

    2. If you were not a Browns fan......if you are one, which other NFL team, if any would you be a fan of?

    Can't imagine

    3. Have you either played  football above the high school level....or coached football at any level?

    No

    4. Besides Tom Brady....with his good looks, his hot wife, his money, his fame...and not least of all, his incredible success......is there any  football player, past or present whose life you would want to emulate?

I don't really want to emulate athletes, or anybody, but Chris Long, who just retired, is a pretty cool guy I can respect.

Paris, Rome, London, Munich, Amsterdam, Sydney, then throw in three Greek/Mediterranean Islands and three Caribbean islands.

    My own:

    1. Which of the Brown's new acquisitions...by trade/FA/Draft   will have the biggest impact on the team this coming year?

I am going to be a bit different here and say:  Sheldon Richardson. Because of his disruptive ability in the center of the line, more attention will have to be paid to him...which will allow our outside guys Garrett and Vernon to have fewer double teams, giving them better opportunities to get sacks and pressures.  If they do not give extra attention to him...then he tears the other team apart on the inside.  The shortest distance between 2 points (and to the QB) is a straight line....and he will be on the likes of BR/Dalton....and whomever else the Browns face like stink on shit if they don't try to do extra to handle him.

    2. If you were not a Browns fan......if you are one, which other NFL team, if any would you be a fan of?

Oh, probably the Packers. We went through this back in the days of the  "inactive period" from  1996/97/98. The Packers are a small...community owned team, with no single greedy owner. Plus they are a remnant of the early days of the NFL that had teams in smaller cities like Akron, Canton, Muncie, Pottsville, Duluth....Green Bay...etc.  Plus my wife is from Wisconsin and they were my  father-in-laws favorite team. I don't give much of a shit about them now...but if there were no Cleveland Browns....the Packers would be the least wretched alternative.

    3. Have you either played  football above the high school level....or coached football at any level?

Neither, not built for football.  Played baseball in HS but not beyond.

    4. Besides Tom Brady....with his good looks, his hot wife, his money, his fame...and not least of all, his incredible success......is there any  football player, past or present whose life you would want to emulate?

Given my profession, the choices here would be between  Byron "Whizzer" White,  (NFL player who went on to become a US Supreme Court Justice), or Alan Page...who was a Minnesota State Supreme Court Justice.

While these stats do not look impressive now....the bold stats do mean that he led the league in those categories that year.

He also played QB some...amassing about 1200 yards passing in just his 3 years (again, given the times, that was a fair amount)

And, Oh,yeah.....there were those 31 years he served on the US Supreme Court, appointed by JFK:
