Here is the "Balance Sheet"  so far on Browns  Free Agency.   The comings and the goings.   Assess whether the Browns are in the Black or in the Red:

Lost   OT Kendall Lamm    vs. Gained OT  Greg Senat

Lost  on  DL    DTs   Larry Ogunjobi and Vincent Taylor    vs.  gained on DL    DT  Malik  Jackson and DE Takkarist McKinley

Lost  in DB  CBs  Tavierre Thomas  and  Kevin Johnson and Terence Mitchell    vs.   gained in DB    CB  Troy Hill and   SS  John Johnson.

Lost  LB  Tae Davis   vs.  gained   LB Anthony  Walker

Kept  WR  Higgins,  K Parkey, LB Malcolm Smith,  OLB Elijah Lee and WR  JoJo Natson

So, please provide an accounting  so far.

Perhaps we must also account for the cuts that have been made as well:

Drake Dorbeck, George Obinna, Adrian Clayborn,  Malcolm Pridgeon, Michael Dunn,  BJ Goodson, Colby Gossett.

Plus fate still in the air:   Olivier Vernon ,  Karl Joseph,  Andrew Sendajo,  Taywon Taylor.

IMO  the only ones of the above that should be considered for retention are  Vernon and Joseph...though they may be replaced through higher draft picks.   The others  either low round picks or  UDFAs can  baland them out.

Just looking at the list is seems to balance heavily in our favor.

As for the scrubs and stiffs at the bottom of the roster, I don't worry.  There isn't a team in the league who doesn't turn over 10 bottom of the roster players a year.  Between draft picks, UDFA selections, then team roster camp cuts, we find the others, and even then you purge some of those throughout the season.

I's say we are in excellent shape as we head to the draft, and may even add 1-2 more before this is over.

If everybody had like minds, we would never learn.

          better accounting?

incomplete at this point... https://www.espn.com/nfl/team/transactions/_/name/cle  I think A.Clayborn was the only guy we released from a contract with a year left?

The rest were FA losses or some are still FA sign-able ..

I understand that it is incomplete this far and will be really until the 53 man roster was set in September but I was just doing an interim thing after the first week of free agency

I missed Mitchell....corrected  OP.    I had Goodson in a different category.  I thought he was a cut rather than a FA.

                  How about this:

Let's list a Browns need, and let's see if it got filled:

                  Need:

                  Offense:

                  A.  Wide Receiver depth:       Not filled... unless you count resigning of  Higgins and Natson.   Still,  likely mid round draftee to help.

                  B. Offensive line depth:  Greg Senat replaces  Kendall Lamm....but could probably still use someone  in draft.  Return of Drew Forbes may help.

                  Defense:

                  A.  Defensive Tackle:  Malik Jackson replaces Ogunjobi.    Still may draft

                  B.  Defensive End:   Takkarist McKinney  may replace  Vernon...who may or not be retained.  If lost, still may draft.

                  C. MLB:   Anthony Walker replaces  BJ Goodson.

                  D. OLB:    Not filled,   except for resigning of Malcolm Smith.   Seems a high draft priority

                  E.  Strong Safety:    John Johnson fills the bill well.  To be well backed up by Ronnie Harrison

                  F. Free Safety:  Not filled per se.....counting on Grant Delpit  to come back from injury to fill.  May still be a need.

                  G. Corner/ corner  depth.  Counting on return of Greedy Williams,    may still be a need

                  H.  Nickel Back.  Filled with Troy Hill.

                  Special Teams:

                  A.  Kick/punt returner.    Natson re-signed....but still a need IMO.

                  Anything else that I missed?

Reminder that Senat was on our PS to start the 2020 season before DAL signed him away. He appeared in 10 games for da Boyz almost exclusively on STs.

So Callahan knows what he has vs. Lamm... and I have to believe he's OK with it.

Hodge was brought back too. We’ve got 6 in the group- 5 of which are practically roster locks.

Maybe we get a Day 3 guy.

The only positions I think we have no shot of drafting is RB and P.   I can make an argument for every position factoring in our 2021 roster.
