Browns Board Free For All Mock Draft

The Browns Board

  • It appears that we are not going to be doing a normal Browns Board Mock Draft this year as we have for many years, as no one has stepped up to be the commissioner of the thing as we have done in the past.  And herewith I am certainly NOT stepping up to do so.   I am just starting a thread.   So, here is how this will work:    I will list the First round draft order, and if we only go one round....fair enough.   No one is assigned a team.   Anyone can make any selection for any team, first come, first served.    Just one rule:   no one can make 2 picks in a row.  You make a pick....then someone else can come in and do so for the next team in line, then you can come in a pick again if you want.   All I will do is to try to keep track of the picks made in the original post.   I will make the first obvious pick to get it started.  So, here we go with the  Draft Order.  One other rule which should be obvious:  No trades.

The Jets are on the Clock.  Anyone is free to make this choice (except me at this point).

  • Jets -- Justin Fields -- QB, Ohio State

    And everyone boos because Jets.

The Dolphins are on the clock.

The more labels you have for yourself, the dumber they make you. "When you win, say nothing. When you lose, say less." Paul Brown

  • A lot of prognosticators think the Dolphins will go for a QB....after just drafting one with the  5th overall pick last year.  I don't think that way.  I say you put something around that  #5 QB pick to help him out.

Dolphins select:    Penei Sewell,  OT   Oregon.

    Falcons on the clock

  • Falcons need to replace Matt Ryan

They take BYU QB Zach Wilson

    Bungles on the clock

"And they don't really know even what they're talkin' about And I can't imagine what empty heads can achieve."

  • Bengals coaches need wins now and to do that, Burrow must be protected better. In a deep WR class and then facing Myles Garrett twice a year they ignore the receiver position here

    They select Rashawn Slater, OT

  • Philadelphia Eagles     like the Dolphins, they have a QB they need to take a better look at...and give better weapons to.  They select

    Jamar Chase   WR   LSU

  • Best available per  CBS Sports:   (overall prospect ranking given):

    5. Kyle Pitts   TE  Florida

    6. Micah Parson  LB  Penn St.

    8. Jaylan Waddle  WR  Alabama

    9.  Devonte Smith  WR  Alabama

    10.  Trey Lance  QB   North Dakota St.

    11. Caleb Farley  CB  Va Tech

    12. Kwity  Paye  DL  Michigan

    14. Christian Dannisaw  OL Va Tech

    15. Patrick Surtain  CB Alabama

    16.  Azeez Ojulari  LB   Georgia.

    17.  Alijah-Vera Tucker  OL  USC

  • Zombo said:

This is going well ... but let's get more people involved .... Maybe sit out five turns after making a pick?

Compromise...with 2-3?    Honor system.  I will try to only do  1/5 turns from here on out.

  • With the 7th overall pick in the 2021 NFL Draft, the Detroit Lions select Devonta Smith, WR Alabama.

  • With the 8th overall pick the Carolina Panthers select:

Trey Lance - QB - North Dakota State

    Denver is now OTC...

  • Denver goes to SEC and National Champs with Patrick Surtain II - CB - Alabama.

  • Dallas Cowboys are on the clock.  Pick open to anyone but Tour and Tex.

  • Cowboys defense has decent LB's but hot garbage everywhere else.

    Caleb Farley, CB, Virginia Tech

    Giants are on the clock

The more labels you have for yourself, the dumber they make you. "When you win, say nothing. When you lose, say less." Paul Brown

  • With the 11th overall pick The New York Football Giants select:

Micah Parsons - LB - PSU

Plenty of front 7 needs for the G-men, but the 2nd level versatility of an athlete of Parsons caliber can't be passed up.

    49ers are OTC....

  • Despite having perhaps the best TE in the league with George Kittles,  the  San Francisco 49ers take what is considered one of the best TE prospects to come out in years.  And even though it is at best a minor need for that team, you can't turn away from perhaps having the best TE duo in the game, and perhaps by far the BPA:

    Kyle Pitts  TE   Florida.

LA Chargers are on the clock for the 13th pick.

  • Best Available:

    8. Jaylan Waddle  WR  Alabama

    12. Kwity  Paye  DL  Michigan

    14. Christian Dannisaw  OL Va Tech

    16.  Azeez Ojulari  LB   Georgia.

    17.  Alijah-Vera Tucker  OL  USC

    18. Rondale Moore  WR  Purdue

    19. Mac Jones  QB  Alabama

    20. Jaelan Phillips  DL  Miami

    21. Jayson Oweh  Edge  Penn St

    22. Kadarius Toney  WR  Florida

  • With the 13th overall pick the Los Angeles Chargers select:

Christian Dannisaw  - OT - VaTech

LAC's GM's job-1 is to protect their newfound, franchise QB.

He started the job by signing GB FA Bulaga for the right-side and completes it with the selection of this draft's only plug-n-play LT.
