CUTS

Brian Russell got cut by Seattle, I say bring him back. He may not be fast but he was a beast at safety.

I simply don't get the obsession with Russell. Dude was frozen yogurt, at best.
You know, a suitable proxy in a pinch, but far from the real thing.

Yeah, but when he was in the game, our secondary was usually where it was supposed to be. No blown assignments. No sweeps getting around the corner. No wide open middles for draws to blow up into. No safeties not covering the over for tight cover corners.
So maybe he hasn't the physical skills to stack up at this level... but he has the smarts for it.

Got to think this roster is far from a done deal. Some of the 52 shouldn't be get real comfortable just yet. Once they see the cuts and also look at the waiver wire. It could get interesting. Anyone claimed off of waivers has to go on the 53 man roster. From what I saw, the Lions are at 53.

WR David Tyree, Eli Manning's savior, and mz the pussy's fellow 'cuse alum just got the boot from the G-men.
Sad "riches" to rags story, but an injury nightmare. So, no thanks.

On a TV note...
Jesse Holley from the Reality TV Show "4th & Long" was cut by the Dallas Cowboys.

The Patriots released TE Alex Smith, just months after trading a fifth-round draft pick to the Buccaneers for his services.
Smith, a fifth-year NFL veteran, was the loser in a crowded tight end group that includes Chris Baker and Ben Watson. The Patriots also traded TE David Thomas to the Saints for a 2011 undisclosed draft pick, then appeared to spin that selection to the Giants in exchange for TE Michael Matthews

The Panthers claimed Sutton off waivers, a somewhat surprising move considering Carolina has a similar player in rookie Mike Goodson.
But it's no surprise Sutton was claimed after all the impressive reviews he gathered in practice and the solid work he did throughout the preseason. An undrafted rookie from Northwestern, Sutton could be a useful player on passing downs with his jitterbug style.

Philadelphia Jordan Norwood WR Practice Squad Addition .... wonder if he'll work out?
Still Elton Brown still unsigned? RG of note...
Carolina
Louis Leonard DT Placed On IR - broken left ankle does this effect draft pick we acquired?
Oakland William Joseph DT Cut
