I think the veg-o-matic or some chopper was first and then it took off as a tv sensation.  He's in closets and junk drawers all across America and beyond.

I read that he was the founder of RONCO. They made and a lot of stuff

My Grandmother had the entire catalogue at one time... LOL.. Her and my Stepfather were pack rats....
