Tale of the Tape - Browns vs Raiders
-
Rush / G Pass / G Sack Run D / G Pass D / G Sack Give/Take Browns 143 4th 222 25th 25th 106 11th 215 7th 8th +2 Raiders 85 29th 302 2nd 21st 125 26th 231 13th 20th -4 So, our offensive stats are a pack of lies. This is because we're going to be missing not just Conklin, but Wills and Teller on the OL. Subtract Landry & Hooper...and PERHAPS we get a TE or two back...and what've ya got....no holes to run through, no time to pass and nobody to throw to. I can't even believe that we're facing another Jets game from last year!
Our defense is our only hope. And yet they'll be facing the #2 passing offense in the league. We're gonna need 3 Myles Garrett strip sack TD's and 2 Ward pick 6's. Or else we'll need 3 guys named Blake to play lights-out on the OL. unphuckingbelieveable

I can't even believe this. They're back in contention. They pulled out a win against Baltimore's top rated run D. Now to face the Raiders and their 26th ranked run defense. A chance to work to our strength and take some pressure off of the passing game.
We have one tackle on our roster. Hudson. And some guy (Alex Taylor) on the PS. Is Hence now our LT? Then who plays RG? Michael Dunn I guess, if you go by the roster on the team site. Then with Landry and Natson out you now will bring up Ja'Marcus Bradley who, like a bad penny, keeps showing up on the game-day roster no matter how much they'd rather not have him there. ( I was pulling for Bradley as I remember him making a tremendous twisting catch against the Jets last year, only to have the defender hit him hard and in the hands as he was catching it and the ball being knocked loose. I thought maybe he might be good. But he's shown nothing in his ample playing time this year.) You've gotta be able to create a little space for yourself in this league. And I think that's something that haunts Higgins also.
OK, so there's all that. But they still have to show up and beat us. The Raiders have a pretty good pass D. We're just going to have to figure out a way to get guys blocked for our running backs. That's all there is to it. Someone said in another thread, Run the ball 45 times! And that's crazy, for sure...but it's probably our best chance of winning. We've got no choice but to not let that Raider passing attack have the ball and get ahead of us. We've gotta run with Chubb and D'E...and the two of them can do it as we've seen them do before...and we're going to have to run with the pass...short, quick things and passes to the backs in the flat. Now some may say that that'll bring the D up and in the box...but, that's going to be the plan to stop us anyway. Screen passes might usually help some...but screens are not the easiest things for offensive lines, so I'm not so sure on the screens.
Callahan is going to have to work some miracles over the next couple of days.
...any chance the weather will be sideways rain or snow?

Tales to Covid Saturday....
lets roll these Loss Vegas Aid-er's back a week.. https://www.pff.com/news/nfl-week-14-game-recap-kansas-city-chiefs-48-las-vegas-raiders-9
1) This is not the same power blocking OL, that pushed our butt's up & down the field last season..
2) Still a game of "whom runs the ball with production".. Should Win...
3) Is Hance playing LT? or Keenum playing QB? our biggest bother? Forecast?
Saturday
Showers, mainly before 1pm. High near 43. Light and variable wind becoming north 5 to 7 mph in the afternoon. Chance of precipitation is 90%. New precipitation amounts between a quarter and half of an inch possible. Saturday Night
A slight chance of rain and snow showers before 1am, then a chance of snow showers. Mostly cloudy, with a low around 29. Chance of precipitation is 30%. New snow accumulation of less than a half inch possible.
4) Winning on 3rd down is still our biggest winning factor.. The team staying out of 3rd & long +5..huge game-day key
5) Getting/Hitting David Carr... We can cover...but not flea's found in Hunter Renfrow for very long. Drops nothing his hands hit. I'd call in the Warden to shadow Frow on 3rd...
