The Family Plan
-
I found this one to be pretty good, and l stumbled upon it in a timely fashion. At some point in your life it’ll be mindless action flick time, but oh shit, there’s kids around. This is a winner if you find yourself in that situation.
It stars Mark Wahlberg, who plays a hotshot car salesman in Buffalo with a wife and 3 kids, but he used to be a quasi government assassin and faked his death to escape that life, but dun dun dunnn… the past caught up to him. So he spontaneously takes his family on a whirlwind adventure to Las Vegas, dodging killers all the merry way.
Wahlberg does well in this role, as does the wife and kids. They all have their own subplots going on and the movie does a good job developing those.
From an action standpoint, it definitely adheres to its PG-13 rating, so don’t expect decapitations or exploding body parts, but the action scenes are done pretty well and there’s elements of humor added that work well too. There’s some Enya involved. They do make good use of their one “fuck” in the movie.
It’s not exactly the kind of thing l would go for sans kids, but it nails it when they’re around. I give it an A-.

Thanks IBB - looks like a good movie worth checking out soon. Appreciate the recommendation!
