~ Finally ~ it's beginning to smell like football again !
The NFL preseason is upon us, as the Cleveland Browns will welcome the Green Bay Packers to town on Sunday. Earlier in the week, Packers head coach Matt LaFleur confirmed that Jordan Love and other starters would play this week, while Kevin Stefanski said Deshaun Watson will not play against Green Bay.

If Watson is deemed healthy enough to play, he should.
The more "live" reps he does revving up to the start of the season, the better.

Certainly that's true...but they'll be practicing next week against the Vikings (am I correct on that?)...which will be a more controlled environment for QB protection.

I don't see it as necessary for Watson to play this week. I think the team wants to make sure Winston is on track then see equal doses of Hundley and DTR to help sort out the 3rd QB.
As you said, Watson will see plenty of nearly live action against the Vikings, then action in the final pre-season games.

~ AND ~ this preseason is INDEED closing in rather quickly in 2024 ! From the Browns wire
︎-->
With the preseason just a few days away, things are heating up around the Cleveland Browns. They remain one of the teams in contention for wide receiver Brandon Aiyuk if the team convinces him to agree to contract terms for an extension. San Francisco has already agreed to Cleveland’s trade terms, and boy, would getting Aiyuk to make this offense ridiculously good.
● This part really strikes me as what poor planning can do. --> In the middle of the night, it was leaked that the team would soon announce plans for a dome in Brook Park, something that had seemed inevitable for a while. The Browns can’t renovate the current stadium, which was poorly made and rushed and is deteriorating, so a new stadium is a MUST.
Some people want to argue about a dome and say it takes away from football weather, but I’m a fan of good football, and playing in a rain or snowstorm doesn’t result in quality football.

Woot!!

I don’t think it’s a joke to say that kick would have been good from 70. That kick was 55 and cleared the bar 80% of the way up. I’m not opposed to having York around, with way less pressure
