I doubt the stadium will be there, maybe the new one in Brookpark.

This doesn’t have anything to do with where the stadium is. Wherever that stadium is, if the Browns play home games there, it will be called “Huntington Bank Field” for the next 20 years.

Reading between the lines on this, l know it’s a drag to have the big corporate name instead of just “Cleveland Browns Stadium”, but the big Ohio bank just ponied up for 20 years which would seem to indicate the team isn’t moving too awful far for that span of time, so l find that at least a little comforting.

    Vaguely interesting historical Cleveland tidbit:

As the new ballpark for the then Indians was being built, the Jacobs brothers looked for a corporate sponsor to drop down some straight cash homey, and Cleveland's own Society Bank said yes. The ballpark at the corner of Carnegie and Ontario was going to be named Society Field, but something happened with the bank, it was then bought out by another banking company, and the plans fell through.

That's the reason it became Jacobs Field for the first 13 seasons.

Interesting. Was it perchance bought out by Huntington? That would be quirky if so.

Keybank... I guess I was a little off - Society merged with Keybank, not a takeover but a merger.

Regardless, the merger ended their interest in name sponsorship, so a few months before it opened Dick Jacobs named it after his family.
