Browns sign DT Maliek Collins to two-year deal
-
The Cleveland Browns are beginning to reshape their defensive tackle room by adding free agent Maliek Collins in NFL free agency.
Signing to a two-year deal worth $20 million, the Browns are giving Collins $13 million of that in guaranteed money. This comes after Collins was released by the San Francisco 49ers despite racking up five sacks and five tackles for loss a year ago. The 29-year-old racked up 45 pressures for the 49ers last year, the second most in his career. This is the Browns' third NFL free agency signing.
Collins now enters a defensive tackle room that consists of 2024 second round pick Mike Hall Jr., 2024 seventh round pick Jowon Briggs, and veteran defensive tackle Shelby Harris. The Browns informed veteran Dalvin Tomlinson of his release from the team earlier this week.
Do not expect for this to be the last move made in the defensive tackle room either through the 2025 NFL draft or through the existing pool of NFL free agency candidates.
