This is a show on Peacock, and season 2 recently concluded. I’ll say right off the bat that l really like it. It’s smartly done, well acted, and has a cool premise of a plot structure and a really cool central character.

Natasha Lyonne plays the main character, Charlie Cale, and Charlie is a bona fide human bullshit detector. She can tell 100% of the time when someone is lying to her, and she’s very forthright in calling it out. She’s also a really interesting lead, she’s frumpy yet attractive, and has a sort of Janis Joplin vibe with a distinct voice and quirky mannerisms. She finds herself in a situation at the outset of the first season where she needs to get outta Dodge in her ‘69 Plymouth Barracuda and lay low for awhile.

The structure of most of the episodes is like that of an old school murder mystery show, like Murder She Wrote or something like that. Those kinds of shows aren’t really my thing, but l get the vibe the producers really went outta their way to mimic certain devices that are used in those types of shows.

There’s a structure to most of the episodes where each episode is it’s own murder mystery to crack, and the first part of the episode features the other main players in the mystery, and then there’s a would be commercial break, and then the next part shows how Charlie fits in to the mystery.

There’s plenty of humor in the show too, and Charlie is an endearing character that is easy to root for. There are some bigger name guest appearances throughout the show if you’re in to that sort of thing.

It’s a darn good show, and there’s one show in the first season that’s a mindbender. The second season was quite good too, maybe not as enjoyable as the first.

    I give it an A.
