I would've done the same thing.  Thanks for stopping in.  Take something from the middle shelf on your way out.

But I wouldn't have hired Kitchens.

Yep. Definitely got the impression that Kitchens had Dorsey's stamp of approval.

In fact, how bad it went with Kitchens was probably the biggest reason JD got fired.

He was on North Carolina’s staff last year under Mack Brown, and I believe was the interim head coach for their bowl game(?)

Belichick kept him on his staff when he took the HC gig.

As much as I appreciate Dan Campbell, and would love to play for a coach like that, he's also cost himself and his team as much as he has helped them.

He is overly aggressive to a fault.  It has cost his team precious points in big regular and post season games.   Things yourself and members of this board have criticized Coach Stef about.

I'm fuzzy on the details but he cost the Lions a playoff game last season or the one before with some absolutely head-scratching rolls of the dice.

Overly aggressiveness can now be justified by invoking the magic word......analytics.

Yeah, he went for it on 4th down, up 24-7 in SF inside the 40ers 10 and got stopped (2023 playoffs). Shifted the momentum, might have cost them a SB.
