Late in the 4th quarter of the Patriots @ Titans game last Sunday the Titans fans started chanting Vraaabellll,  Vraaabellll.   Man, I thought that was so cool by the Titans fans.  They were a good team under his coaching.  And last year he tried his best to help out OUR team.  Ultimately Jimmuh let him out of his consulting contract so he could prepare for HC interviews.

Now Vrabel has Drake Maye as his QB.....and Drake is NO LONGER a rookie.  He is playing good football...as is evident by their top 10 raking in passing.  He's been sacked 22 times though so we are going to have to add to that sack count and keep him under pressure.  The Patriots are tough to run against...and isn't it great that it's running that we need to be able to do to help out our totally inept passing game.  Ugh!

At 2-5, we've gotta string wins together.  We cannot leave the foliage of New England behind while carrying a loss back home with us.  Our season is  dangling by a thread.  We've gotta win this game.  I used to be at every Browns game here in New England.  But I no longer go to games.  Most of 'the crew' have either died or moved to Florida.  And I should be back from the golf course with enough time to display my Browns flag and assume the 'writhing' position on the couch by 1:00.   🙂  Maye the Force be NOT with you this week Drake!

Yeah, it would be great to pull off an upset, get to the BYE at 3-5.

Might be a close low-scoring game, like Cincy or Minnesota.

Jeudy is going to make a (positive) play in the 4th Q. He's due, isn't he? ?

    Let's go Browns.

Patriots are good on paper,  but 4 of their wins are the Dolphins, Saints, Titans and Panthers (who are getting better, but). I'm not trying to suggest the Browns aren't pretty firmly in this group of teams talent/record wise, but methinks there's at least a whiff of 'fool's gold' on their record. We certainly have a strong defense than all of them, and coming a dominant defensive-based win is going to give some good energy.

On top of that, you have a guy who knows Vrabel and has beaten him pretty soundly head to head in the past. Different circumstances no doubt, but I'm certainly planning to bet Browns +7.5. We shall see how it goes- if they can manage to win, being 3-5 into the bye week with the 4 of the next 5 games being Jets, Ravens, Raiders and Titans? Hopium could at least last until Turkey day haha.

The Patriots should never have lost their game to the Steelers.  They got themselves in scoring position so many times in that game...only to give the ball to the Steelers.  Five turnovers.  Stevenson fumbled twice.  The Steelers were lucky.

    DID NOT PARTICIPATE

    Patriots

    Browns

    • OL Ethan Pocic (Illness) - Added to injury report on Thursday
    • S Rayshawn Jenkins (wrist, back) - Was limited on Wednesday, back injury added
    • DT Adin Huntington (concussion)

Jenkins having a setback with a new injury and Pocic’s illness will be obvious concerns to watch.

    LIMITED PARTICIPATION

    Patriots

    • WR Stefon Diggs (chest)
    • LB Elijah Ponder (knee) - DNP on Wednesday
    • S Craig Woodson (ankle) - DNP on Wednesday
    • OT Morgan Moses (not injury related — other)
    • S Kyle Dugger (knee) - Added to injury report on Thursday
    • DT Khyiris Tonga (knee)
    • LB Harold Landry III (ankle)

Dugger being added to the injury report on Thursday will make his status on Friday important to watch, but getting both Ponder and Woodson back on the field would be helpful for the New England defense.

    Browns

    • TE David Njoku (knee)
    • WR Jerry Jeudy (knee) - DNP on Wednesday
    • OL Jack Conklin (rest) - Added on Thursday
    • CB Tyson Campbell (quad)

A lot of names, and important names, on the limited list, including Njoku, practicing after missing last week’s game.

    FULL PARTICIPATION

    Patriots

    • CB Christian Gonzalez (hamstring)
    • DT Christian Barmore (not injury related — other) - Was limited on Wednesday
    • CB Charles Woods (knee)
    • S Jaylinn Hawkins (hamstring)

    Browns

    • DT Mike Hall Jr. (knee)
    • DT Mason Graham (knee) - Was limited on Wednesday
    • DT Shelby Harris (knee) - Was limited on Wednesday
    • CB Denzel Ward (hip) - Was limited on Wednesday
    • TE Blake Whiteheart (shoulder) - Was limited on Wednesday
    • S Grant Delpit (toe)

A big development to see Hall on the full participation list to start the week, which should lead to his first active game of the season.

Here’s the tv map for the game this Sunday. I had hoped for broader coverage going up against a 5-2 Pats team that seems to be playing with some mustard this year, but it’s mostly the usual suspects.

    https://506sports.com/nfl.php?yr=2025&wk=8

Most of Ohio gets the game, save for us greater Cincinnatians and my forsaken homies in Van Wert. A little chunk of eastern KY, western PA, and most of WV gets the game as well.

And other than that it’s the New England area getting the game, including MA, CT, RI, ME, VT, and NH.

The Adirondacks in northeast NY gets the game. They are the only mountains in the eastern US that are still growing, and it’s the location of Fort Ticonderoga, a key battle location in the French and Indian War, as well as Lake Placid, where the men’s US hockey team whipped the Ruskies’ ass in the 1980 winter Olympics.

    Browns Injury Report

    • DT Adin Huntington - Concussion - Limited - Questionable
    • TE David Njoku - Knee - Limited - Questionable
    • S Rayshawn Jenkins - Wrist, Back - Limited - No game day designation
    • WR Jerry Jeudy - Knee - Limited - No game day designation

    Patriots Injury Report

    • S Kyle Dugger - Knee - Limited - Questionable

While Dugger has been playing sparingly, Njoku is an important piece of Cleveland’s offense and Huntington has been a unique 3-way player for the team. Sunday’s inactive report will be interesting as we find out the status of all three questionable players 90 minutes before Week 8 kicks off.

Supposedly he had a bunch of injuries, a bunch of repairs, and had a lot of healing to do.  Such that I get the feeling that he's going to be one of those guys often battling nagging injuries.  Hopefully I'm wrong...but apparently he got massively screwed up last year.

From what I remember he had a late season/last game knee injury?

If Shelby and Graham are limited or DNP, it's going to be a repeat of 2021 sans Collins and Hall just playing like Banshees.

So Conklin is able to play.  He's Gabriel's blind side protector.  We'll need him to show that he's a good RT.

Browns elevate DT Sam Kamara and QB Bailey Zappe

That's great.  Zappe used be a Patriot.  He can show everyone where the restrooms are.  Keep him outa' the game!

    He is a good RT.

The rare times he actually suits up and plays for the Browns.
