I would if they are smart enough to turn some picks around for a good QB. but we fucking suck and would find a way to screw it up. so Vette does it really matter ?

Well that's the other side of it too.  Will we turn his picks into poor draft choices?  (the bird in the hand being worth more than the two in the bush)

Defense Wins Championships.  If your offense can get you into the playoffs.  We have a good enough defense to win a championship.  Myles is a big part of it.  Our D is a shadow of itself without Myles.  Even if he doesn't get a lot of tackles and/or sacks in a game, he's gobbling up all kinds of offensive players blocking and chipping him.

We already have two 1st round picks in our pocket.  Let's use them to improve the offense such that it can get us into the playoffs so our D can win a championship.

It does matter - the bird in hand is Myles being doubled freeing up others and still posting 15-20 sacks a year and being a  sure DPOY candidate.

Myles is elite our defensive line is NOT an elite unit it plays really well because it’s anchored by HOFer.

we will never make the playoffs for at least a few more drafts, Myles wont have shit left in the tank by then

I’m betting on Myles Garrett at 30 next year…31 and 32 to be an elite player with 32 y/o and 33 y/o Myles being a key piece in a playoff run.  I think all these assumptions are reasonable

Well, it's extremely unlikely but the Browns are only 2 games out of 1st place now?

You don't trade away generational players.

Sure you do, if by the time you are a legit playoff contender said player is on the downslide of his career.

But I don't think Berry wants to be the guy who made the Watson trade AND traded away a first year eligible Hall of Famer.

    Unless you're Jerry or Jimmy.

Actually, Jerrah is the only one that comes to mind immediately that has the draft capital to take a run at Myles..

Not sure why he would because at the end of the day it be kind of a Parsons/Garrett trade

Berry didn’t make the Watson trade.  That was all JIMMY. No matter who the GM was, that trade was getting done

    Preachin to the choir brah

But just for shits and grins,, would it be worth the trade pts it would also cost him? picks and pts? why?

And if not Jerrah, who, and why?

It would make sense to move Myles but who right now has the immediate critical need along with the wherewithal to make a serious offer ?

Denver could win a SB with him immediately with the team they have by trading away their entire 2026 draft a la Ditka. Maybe throw in their 1st from 2027 as well.

Actually the trade was dead, Watson told Cleveland no, and Berry and Stefanski went to Haslam and told him they should do whatever they needed to do to get him.

Haslam said ok, they guaranteed the entire contract and Watson agreed to come to Cleveland.

If you are actually interested in the real story of how it went down.

That may be true - I can't argue either way on it.  However, I can add some information that will remind you that your subject heading was spot-on!

Jimmy leans HEAVILY on his FO.

Someone in the FO said they needed/wanted an adult at QB when Baker was here.  In other words, better character needed for an important leadership position. Their specific choice to be this upgraded character does make it hard to argue with your train of thought about Jimmy though.  Having said that, we can't let the dysfunctional FO get out of this either...

Above all that & before it all went down -  just 1 year after the Browns won a playoff game in Pittsburgh scoring 48 points - Berry corrected a female reporter at a press conference with a very angry reply of "I DID NOT DRAFT BAKER MAYFIELD!" Sounds pretty Baker wasn't the new FO guy's plan moving forward. Every GM wants to be evaluated with their own choice of QB - similar to HC Bill Parcells in Dallas saying if you want me to cook the meal; you should at least let me buy the groceries...  Just like the shit show we're seeing now where the FO & HC has total control on what rookie QB will be allowed to succeed under their watch. They can manipulate things to make one guy look worse than the other.  What we're seeing now is Gabriel is the FO plan at QB so he's going to be the only guy playing.  They only drafted Sanders to pacify Jimmy; so Sanders isn't about to get the same chance to succeed as Gabriel.  The 1st time we saw Sanders - he played better than they wanted him to (due to their preference/plan from round 3). Not only that, almost all of the training camp reports I watched/read/heard summarized Sanders was way better.  Very sad I have to type absurd garbage like this. And why?  Again, he's not the FO & HC choice so the next time we saw Sanders we got the version they wanted us to see.  This is a shit show going viral around all the sports talk shows. This was never going to be the better guy earns the starting job.  It was all about the FO & HC getting their way.  Understanding this team still needs a franchise QB - what 1st round QB prospect in the right mind is going to want them some Cleveland Browns?

The ONLY bad thing about firing the 3 Stooges is the same Dumb Ass that owns this team will be doing the hiring 1 more time.  The idea is you fire to upgrade so put your seat belts on folks!!!

  • Rumor on The Fan out of Nashville (Charles Robinson) is that the Eagles are "hot for Myles" and would offer three first rounders for him.

See below. Browns ain't going nowhere the next couple of seasons. All the while, his value would be diminishing. If you would like to see a Browns team stacked with talent again, you have trade away your aging stars, for a combination of younger talent and draft capital. I would have liked to see the start of that this past off season.

  • Is Myles slowing down?

    He’s old 29 lol

Did Reggie White play into his mid late 30s?

    Bruce Smith?

    Suggs?

    Name an all time great…

we are laughable but this make no f’ing sense

For end of first round picks!!!
