I liked Alec Pierce when he came out of the U of Cincinnati a few years ago, had him on my mock drafts for the Browns. He’s been Daniel Jones main target today.

Can’t wait for the Chiefs at Bills game next!

Pierce really is that prototype, big bodied, boundary X receiver.

Doing my annual watch of Batman Begins Learning a new piece of telestration software for RT9, starting some meal prep at halftime and keeping tabs on the over I played for the DET game.

KC v BUF should be a good one.

And in FFL I took Stafford against N.O. with Nacua returned along with the rejuvenated Adams as my WRs. Decided against using Allen against the hard playing K.C. defense of late. We shall see if that was a good decision or not.

Watching LAC vs TENN a bit.

Tennessee is pretty bad on offense too. A punt return & INT return has been their scoring plays.

Jags' Cam Little has longest FG in NFL history of 68 yds. Still down 6-3 to Vegas at halftime.

    Come on Raiders!

Post Script: Raiders went for the win by going for 2 and failed, Jags win 30-29. ?

Pre - Analytics Controlling Everything - the rule of thumb was, you tie the game before you win it.   -  Darned Jags!

It sure seems like most of the "old school" thinking has been trashed.

Teams, especially road teams, bypassing FG attempts when you need points.

Going for 2 too soon, like the KC game yesterday ( but it worked).

I like going for it on 4th down, from say the opponents 35/40 yard line. That makes sense most times ( punters aren't always deadly with the coffin corner or deadening the ball inside the 10).

Yeah, the last 5 or 6 seasons, strategy has really changed throughout the league.

Yesterday's slate of games weren't too satisfying from my perspective, watched the Steelers actually beat a better ranked opponent for the first time this season, the Raiders hand the game to the Jags. Flacco matching his 4 game stint with the Browns at Cinci although defense doomed them to another defeat.

I have zero problem with the inferior team going for the win if given the chance. In theory the longer a game goes the better the chance the superior team wins.

With these crazy numbers Flacco is putting up... I wonder if it will be enough to get him on the HOF ballot/nomination list...

    But the question remains..

    Was it Kevin

    The WR room

    Or the culture

I'm more inclined to believe it's a combination of all the above...

"Go for the win at home, tie on the road"  Raiders chose the former.

Reminds me of one of my favorite plays in Buckeye history.  scUM decided to follow the same mantra in 2013.  Couldn't blame them either, they had momentum and a bad Buckeye defense on the ropes.   Fell short on a heads up play from Tyvis Powell.

It's not Kevin, although we know he can do better.

Kevin has ruined every QB he's ever had and turned them into Checkdown Charlie...

Lol, yeah in 2025 riding with Gabriel.

5 QBs in 2023, including the legendary PJ Walker. Baker was pretty damn good in 2020.

I think the frustration of 2024/25 is boiling over, yeah presently things basically suck on offense.

Could Joe Gibbs, Mouse Davis, Bill Walsh, or even Kyle Shanahan sustain drives with this offensive line & WRs?

As in he turns every QB into Charlie Frye or they don't push the ball downfield and take "checkdowns"...?

    Downside to that theory.

    - Baker had his career 3rd highest comp % and 2nd highest YPA  under Stef

    - Case Keenum had his career highest comp % and YPS under Stef in Minnesota

    - Jacoby Brissett is a journeyman. But in the 3 years he's had a full season of starts, his career highest comp% and YPA are under Stef.

Then you have QBs who haven't started a full season, or a handful of games.

    - Flacco had the 8th highest comp% and tied for the highest YPA of his career in 2023.

The team isn't doing well right now, nobody will argue. But the idea that QB performance bottoms out under Stefanksi is, objectively speaking, not accurate.
