So now what? A & M will be in, but you know the SEC hype show will push Texas in.

Who would you pass up since the only one likely to lose in 1-12 is A&M. Maybe a 3 loss Bama if they lose the SEC Championship game. But then you pass up Utah and Vandy who are both 2 loss teams. It would be a travesty to see a 3 loss team put above them as well as Bama who beat Georgia already. And Bama will push just as hard as Texas to remain in too if they lose. And do you punish Bama for getting to the SEC Championship and then losing? I damn sure would not.

EDIT-same applies to BYU who currently is 11-1. Do you pass them up with 2 losses if they lose to Texas Tech in the Big 12 CG?

Alabama has absolutely no argument if they lose the SEC championship game, they'd be like Texas...out entirely with 3 losses IMHO

Horton Hears a Who?  No, Flugel hears a Boo or 2 or 60,000 or more at that DUMP they call the Big House.  I'm so proud of the Buckeyes, Ryan Day and Matt Patricia today.  My JV team Vanderbilt won too.  My other JV team Syracuse got raided by the transfer portal in the off season so they'll be back in 6-7 years. This was a fun day!

I didn't explain that very well. If Alabama is out for losing then so should Texas be out. Neither should be added in at the expense of some other 2 loss team currently above Texas in the CFP Ratings.

The only defense Michigan played all day was guarding the M on the field at the end of the game.

Today was the first time I ever saw someone head-butt a referee.. and of course it was a UM player, because that's what you should expect from a Michigan Man.  Fighting a ref is the softest thing I've ever seen.. and I'm glad he wasn't ejected because he had to stay on the field and watch his team get dominated every play.  Interestingly, the guy who did the headbutt was the same guy who ran his mouth last season saying OSU "didn't know how to lose."

I'm going to get a framed/signed copy of that iconic shot of OSU players doing the lambeau leap with the OSU fans while UM desperately wants OSU players to fight them.  But championships are what OSU does, while UM are back where they are when they don't cheat - tryhards.

I don't remember the last time OSU had a 20-play 12-minute drive, but that was fun to watch.  This was the best the OSU OL played all year.. no sacks allowed, not even a pressure.. and the defense in quarters 2-4 was impeccable.. it was a blowout.. OSU had 73 offensive plays while UM only had 42.

I want to know what Day had stored up for the interviews if he wasn't feeling classy..  He's been the subject of years of gaslighting from UM.  Gotta love Portnoy crashing out during the game.

There was a TON of red in the stands today...

Too bad for Sherrone "Born on Third Base" Moore... but then again, the only reason Harbaugh had ANY success at scUM was him bailing on the 2020 Ohio State game and then cheating his ass off.

THIS was what should have happened last year. I'll never understand what the hell they were doing in '24 vs TCUN. They literally had one strength last season and we just were hell-bent on running right into it all fucking game. Oh well, on to Indianapolis next Saturday! 1 vs 2.

There was a very questionable targeting call against Bama last night in the 2nd half. So of course that player will miss the 1st half of the SEC C Game. Against Georgia he'll be missed. Shame on the replay official. It was clearly incidental in a heads up chest to chest hit and not crown of the helmet intentional.

Absolutely!  He's been amazing all year. Up until a week or 2 ago his completion % was freakin 81.  Killer good!

While we're wishing - I'd LOVE to see any of our QBs protected like he was yesterday. However, there's another part to this - I'd also like to have a WR here get open immediately (especially considering we have pass pro from our Tackles) or a reliable deep threat (Bond shows that he can - what WR here is a better option?)

Updating all that using the latest AP Poll:

Here is why these 4 teams stay in. Indiana and O. State are both undefeated so obviously the loser still stays and likely does not get a bye. T. Tech will get the remaining one assuming they beat BYU. Georgia with a loss will still be the heads up winner earlier in the season with Texas, so they stay before Texas. If Alabama loses they would be a 3 loss team like Texas, but they would be 1-1 with Georgia while Texas is 0-1. Again they remain before Texas can come in. Then the next step for Texas and their self declared argument to move into the 12 is how do they argue the committee from including either Vandy or Miami who both had strong wins this past weekend and both have only two losses? Plus of course the winner of the N. Texas vs Tulane are required by the rules to at least take the 12th spot. So Texas would also have to jump past T Tech should they lose to BYU. Not gonna happen. Texas into the top 12 CFP would be a total miscarriage of justice to at least two other teams more deserving if you look at the current AP poll.

That makes sense, so it probably doesn't happen lol.

I read that Duke won't get in even if they win the ACC because they're 7-5, so that could open up a spot.

I just don't trust the ESPN/SEC bias. They actually were cheering the Lane Kiffin move....in other words, the mighty SEC is allowed to poach other school's coach DURING a season. Low class.

ESPN says LSU is a top 3 CFB job. Insanity right there.

I hope tOSU goes all the way & meets Ole Miss in the title game.

They take the top 5 conference champs regardless of their poll rating. The have to include even teams outside the 12, but if there is only one champ outside, it will be the champ with the highest rating which at the moment would be the winner of the N. Texas (20) - Tulane (21) matchup for the American Conference. Right now it appears only 3 conferences have top 12, SEC, Big 10 and Big 12. It's also possible that Virginia slips in if they beat Duke. I'm not sure what other conference with an champ outside those 3 named would have the highest rated champion. Be very strange to have two teams well below pushing out higher ones like Miami, Vanderbilt or even 3 loss Texas. And I'm tired of the SEC/ESPN/ABC pushing Texas when clearly it would not work out that way if the committee is fair in observing their own rules.

We will see today if that committee has caved and rates Texas above Miami and Vandy. Or even further up past Bama and N.D., which they might have to do if they follow the 5 conference rule as required.

EDIT: They release their latest CFP poll at 7 pm Eastern. Let's see how honest/fair they are or if they just cave to Texas money.

In fairness, Texas beat Vandy.  Before we announce what the final score was - they were up on Vandy 34-10 at the start of the 4th quarter. On offense they took their foot off the gas.   The score ended 34-31 Texas.   The line of scrimmage was Texas by a country mile or 2 just like it was when they played A&M.

Texas at 13 but above 2 loss Vandy at 14. Vandy got screwed over but with two at large conference champs coming it at 11 and 12, who knows how it works out. For Texas to get in, 3 more teams have to be pushed out of the current 12 (which does not include those  at large champs at the moment). Bama, BYU could drop out with losses, but no one else until Texas screams "Fraud" a la presidente dictador.??

Thanks Aggies!  Below shows CFP rankings. It's well done so I cut and pasted the link and copied and posted the content below it.  Believe it or not, the biggest thing that jumps out at me is Ole Miss hasn't had record this good since Archie Manning played QB for them in the 60s; and those kids just got orphaned right before the College Football Playoffs.  Never been a Lane Kiffin fan - this assures me I never will be!   Wow!

    https://www.ncaa.com/news/football/article/2025-12-02/college-football-playoff-bracket-based-current-committee-rankings

Here's a cut and paste of the article from the link above:

Here's how the 2025-26 College Football Playoff bracket looks, using the CFP selection committee's fifth top 25 rankings as announced on Tuesday, Dec. 2.

This is not the final, official CFP bracket, which won't be revealed until Sunday, Dec. 7. The bracket below is just how the CFP bracket would look based on the most recent CFP rankings.

    2025-26 College Football Playoff bracket

This bracket uses the fifth selection committee top 25 rankings from Tuesday, Dec. 2. That means the next rankings reveal will be when we get the official College Football Playoff bracket on Sunday, Dec. 7.

The top 25 ranking does not always match the seed in the playoff, as the five highest-ranked conference champions get in automatically, even if they are ranked behind teams in the top 25 or not ranked in the top 25 at all.

Here is the College Football Playoff bracket, from the Dec. 2 rankings

First Round (and related quarterfinal matchups)

    • No. 12 fifth-highest ranked conference champion at No. 5 Oregon
      • Winner vs. No. 4 Texas Tech in the quarterfinals
    • No. 9 Alabama at No. 8 Oklahoma
      • Winner vs. No. 1 Ohio State in the quarterfinals
    • No. 11 fourth highest-ranked conference champion at No. 6 Ole Miss
      • Winner vs. No. 3 Georgia in the quarterfinals
    • No. 10 Notre Dame at No. 7 Texas A&M
      • Winner vs. No. 2 Indiana in the quarterfinals

    College Football Playoff rankings, seeds

The four highest-ranked teams — regardless of how they finish in their conference — receive first round byes into the quarterfinals. These teams are listed in bold. The five highest-ranked conference champions receive automatic bids.

Here are the latest CFP top 25 rankings.

    1. Ohio State: 12-0
    2. Indiana: 12-0

There is no re-seeding of the bracket after rounds.

The four quarterfinal games are not played on campus sites like in the first round. The quarterfinals, scheduled on Dec. 31 and Jan. 1 — will be played at the Cotton Bowl, Orange Bowl, Rose Bowl and Sugar Bowl. The four highest-ranked teams will be assigned one of these bowls in consideration of historic bowl relationships as well as seeding.

The four quarterfinal winners will then meet in the semifinals at the Fiesta Bowl or the Peach Bowl on Jan. 8 and Jan. 9. If the seeds hold, that means No. 1 would play No. 4 and No. 2 would play No. 3. The two semifinal winners will then play on Monday, Jan. 19 in Miami for the CFP national championship.
