Well they were actually punished for losing to 4-8 Florida. If they had beaten Ohio State in Ohio like A&M beat N. Dame in Indiana and Florida, they'd be in the CFP too. Or just beat Florida. Same result.
Simple question - would you object at all if A&M could beat Texas? In fact, they should have taken care of business and finished Texas themselves at home; but did they? Which one of these teams playing tonight is better than Texas?
How come Texas is getting zero credit for knocking off undefeated A&M at home?
Bottom line: none of the teams playing tonight deserve to make the CFP in lieu of Texas. Am I right or wrong?

Them's the rules. Ranked Conference Champs from 5 conferences before anyone else, though if they are not in the top 12 they get slots 11 & 12. They did this to allay the objections of conferences all the way around. It was suggested by them all so no conference is left out unless no one in it is ranked. For example, if Duke beats Virginia for the ACC title, no one from the ACC goes because Duke is not in the top 25, but Virginia is. Higher ranked Miami, like A&M, did not qualify for the Championship game. It's fair because all agreed ahead of time that this is how it would work and all played knowing the rules. So to Texas, suck it up buttercups.?

Was Alabama punished for losing to Florida State the same team that lost to Florida by 19 last week?
If they have No OSU and they have Head to Head against Oklahoma and same number of defeats. And Oklahoma is comfortably in the playoff

Actually they were because of their 10-2 record which is why they are at 9 right now. Will the CFP punish Bama for losing the Championship game? Who knows.
And for Texas if they didn't want to be left out they should have known 3 defeat teams don't get in. Like I said though, will Bama be dropped if they lose to a team they beat. Don't know.

? As for Bama, they're the only team that beat 2nd ranked Georgia so they shouldn't be punished for losing to the #2 team in the country in a Conference Championship Game if Georgia should win.
FWIW regarding Texas - their losses were to #1 Ohio State, #2 Georgia and the unranked Florida Gators. I know you hate that team but they're getting screwed if they don't make it. You like bringing up the Florida game - doesn't that give you confidence that A&M can beat Texas?

If they get in A&M gets a second chance, but in our house not theirs. That one I think we can win, yes.?

Bey came to school on signing day morning wearing all OSU gear, all the swag at his table was OSU, the now-deleted Insta posts were all OSU.. It's real. Day presented the plan they created to utilize him in the offense & obviously that was more impactful than the others. Sorry for the kid but at least he's keeping the drama behind closed doors bc this obviously wasnt his idea.
at least he's keeping the drama behind closed doors
Bey's insta and twitter accounts were also taken over by his mom.. like a hostage situation. This and the fact that he is eventually leaving regardless to OSU after his birthday [12/25] was confirmed on the one they forgot about - he commented on a tiktok.
My bet is Heupel just releases Bey from everything UT on 12/26 because UT wants people who want to be there, especially after the Nico situation.

And now we know that if Duke beats Va. Tech they will be replaced by James Madison. Tulane has already qualified for the playoffs in 11 or 12. If Va.Tech wins they will be 11 and Tulane 12. Lose and it's Tulane 11 and JM 12. The only question now is will whining work for Texas should both BYU and Bama lose and Bama drop out of the top 10? Would they both go below Texas and would Miami then get screwed over by getting bypassed? SEC/ESPN/ABC/CBS/Texas would sure try to leverage it that way IMO.

It is what it is, but your paragraph illustrates how silly a 12 team playoff is.
Paraphrasing Allen Iverson...." we talkin' about 3 loss Texas, 3 loss 'Bama" lol

Hey, your Aggies are a GREAT team with some acceleration gears many other teams that will be in the playoffs don't have. You better believe they can beat Texas anywhere! What you ran into was the reality that ANY team can upset a better team. It almost happened to you guys against South Carolina until the Aggies snapped out of the funk.

Georgia looks like a repeat of prior championship teams. OSU will have their hands full if they meet in the finals. I fully expect Georgia to be the #2 seed behind OSU.
EDIT: Ah, never mind. ?
-
Well this playoff bracket should be very interesting tomorrow ?

How ‘bout them Hoosiers?

How ‘bout them Hoosiers?
So does OSU drop to 3rd or 4th? Pretty sure based on what I saw Georgia actually looks the strongest of all, but 1 loss keeps them at #2.

That sounds about right, I thought during the game that the loser shouldn't fall much.
That Big Ten Championship last night was the ending of Rocky II. Two heavyweights at the end of the fight just standing in the middle of the ring throwing haymakers. Both teams fell, Indiana got up at eight, Ohio State didn't.
I'd love to see a rematch.
At the end of the day, I have to blame Ohio State's loss last night on nickers being at the game. ?

If they do go in the order I proposed of IU, Ga, OSU, then OSU first hs to go through a very good looking Ga to get that rematch.
The real drama is who gets that 10th spot against A&M in College Station, rematch with ND, Miami or one spot drop Bama? One of those 3 gets pushed out an Texas can chant the A&M mantra, "Wait 'till next year!" Suck it Cows!!?

I was watching a Buckeyes podcast this morning and they guessed that Ohio State will end up #3 and probably end up going up against Ole Miss I think in the Orange Bowl.
And yes, Ohio State may have to play the Georgia Bulldogs who apparently are the greatest college football team ever from what I've read on here ?

2025 SEC has exactly zero teams with 6 or more wins against bowl-eligible teams. Big10 has 4.
This means that the SEC has a lot of teams with wins against bad teams.. in the conference. Texas needed OT to beat Kentucky and Miss St, neither of whom are going bowling.
I get it, ESECPN keeps pushing the propaganda to people who don't follow it closely.
Looking forward to the SEC excuses when it's a 3rd b10 title in a row magically at the same time as NIL which evened the playing field. Life comes at you fast.
I wouldn't even bet on OSU at this point -- Fielding was the guy who missed 2 last year against UM, missed against UGA, and at this point it's inconceivably indefensible for him to be put out there at high-stakes moments. He's not Mike Nugent.
-
SEC in the Playoffs - have a laugh. The girl with the Aggie is the Battered Aggie Syndrome girl that always ruins things for him.

Texas A&M had 6 wins against bowl eligible teams when you include eligible Notre Dame who chose not to accept any bowl bids. Rather disingenuous comment wouldn't you say?
