Paradise

This is a fairly new show on Hulu that dropped about a year ago. There’s only one season currently out, but the next is slated to drop in late February this year.
It’s the best show l’ve seen in a while. It’s sort of a post-apocalyptic setting, though it’s designed that you won’t quite realize that until the end of the first episode. You will spend the duration of the first season sorting out what went down and how we got to this point.
It’s very engaging and very well done. If the first season grabs you as well as it grabbed me, you will cook through the first 8 episodes in a weekend.
Sterling K. Brown plays the main character, Xavier Collins. He plays a secret service agent assigned to the POTUS, who is played by James Marsden.
From a plot flow standpoint, the show uses a lot of flashbacks to tell the story of what happened to the world and how Paradise came to be.
There’s also really good use of music throughout the series. Virtually every episode features a song from the 1980s or 1990s, and you’ll hear a couple different versions of the song used for some sort of dramatic effect.
Paradise is a very enjoyable watch. I give it an A.

Season 2 just concluded, and this show is freaking great. Upgraded to A+.
It’s seriously top notch edge of your seat at times, big heartfelt drama at other times, and an engaging plot all the while.
And the music use is top notch. There’s a melody throughout the entire series that floats moments.
And I’m a sucker for a good tv couple, and this show has one.
