Well at least Fannin showed up today.

Horrible o-line. Going with 5 new linemen was not a good idea Andrew
Who the hell off that abortion of an OLine should they have kept?@Dutch-Oven said:

They weren’t this bad. They didn’t lead the league in sacks given up last year. They gave up 51. They are pace to give up over 70 this year -
That was honestly terrible

So far I'm not impressed with a single thing he's done...
So, you weren't impressed by that tackle assist he got today? Are we using him in the best way for his skill set? He was good for the Rams.
Rogers finished with a 57.4 passer rating completing only 13 passes. And we got smoked.
I like Monken a lot...but I don't know why he wins the toss and takes the ball. Our Offense STINKS at the start of games. Perhaps he did it because when he puts it in the hands of the Defense they let them go straight down the field. I mean, if there's no clear advantage on O or D, then kick off and take the ball after halftime when you can implement some adjustments you've come up with.
I love Fano...but he can be susceptible to a strong bullrush.
When Sanders came in for injured Watson we called timing plays that required the ball out on time. But Sanders hasn't been playing and doesn't have the timing down so we got called for ineligible receiver (OLineman) downfield...TWICE.
The Defense could not save the day. They did some good things, but they gave up HUGE runs. Several of them. 200 yards in rushing.
Good game by Fannin.
Time to regroup and make sure to come back from N'Orlenz with a win. -
This is insane...
Tampa Bay beat the Atlanta Falcons 16-0 today.
They had no yards passing on zero completions the entire game.

This stings because we were all dreaming of sweeping the Steelers, something last done when I was 13 years old. But we are still 5-3, and have a good chance at 6-3 vs the Saints. Hopefully the Browns learn from this experience. -
Just a dud game? Is this more the seasons reality?
I think it is a little of both. We usually don't play well in Pitt, and we can't keep counting on last second kicks to win games.
Either way, the team is improved but still has a long way to go to be an upper echelon team in the league.
Keep developing the young guys and keep making solid draft choices.

Looks like those first-rounders need to be QB and OL, as well as another Barber in rd3.

Believe it or not, the ONLY time I ever saw the Browns play at Pittsburgh this is what happened:

Why all that? Pittsburgh won the rematch 17-7 in Cleveland on October 15, 1989. It's what these teams do to each other in this rivalry. In that scoring summary above, it doesn't reveal that seemingly promising rookie RB Tim Worley out of UGA had 3 or 4 fumbles (2 became TDs for Matthews & Grayson). Inexperience gets exposed and capitalized on. Always has. Yeah, it sucked watching; but I like the Coaching/progess I've seen throughout their 5-3 start.
I think Fano will become a solid OL for us once they get him back to his comfort zone at RT after this season (just my guess). Teaming him with Barber wouldn't suck on the right side; but I would wait til next year just in case he finishes strong at LT this year. 2 of the starting 5 OL are only 8 starts old in this league. -

Something's seriously off with Verse maybe our scheme doesn't optimize his strengths but needs to fixed. The Steelers wanted it more today Verse really motivated them, we did not match their intensity and they didn't allow us to overcome our mistakes. Reminds me of the Bears game last year where their coach didn't overlook anything against us even though they were the favored team. Monken needs to work harder on scripted plays, admittedly that was one of Stefanski's strengths nearly always scored an opening TD. Still a young team ahead of schedule as my preseason prediction was 8-9. -

Head scratching game plan from Stefanski and once again his inability to adapt on the fly was laid bare. He should've put the ball in Bijan's hands like TB did with their RBs instead of Pinnix slinging it in that horrid weather.

Some thoughts: I believe it wasn't so much the oline that failed vs the squealers, it was who was at qb. They saw what the Browns were able to do and shut it down - they know twatson is stupid and reads slow - eight sacks? gotta be kidding. twatson fumbled twice the first game vs the squealers, once the last game. Howard is a penalty machine - needs to clean that up. Fano is excellent - but will get stronger with more experience. As a rookie LT: 2026 Season Performance
Draft Status: Selected 9th overall in the first round of the 2026 NFL Draft out of Utah. Role: Started all 8 games for the Browns at left tackle. On-Field Play: After a bumpy debut against the Jacksonville Jaguars, he has settled in nicely, giving up very few pressures and earning praise as a foundational piece for Cleveland's offensive line. Recent Game: He started in Week 8 against the Pittsburgh Steelers (a 27-6 loss) and was self-critical of his performance in the post-game press conference. It's been six weeks, and Fano continues to turn heads every time he sets foot on the field. After an up-and-down debut against the Jacksonville Jaguars, he's been lights-out in his last five starts. Spencer Fano is already looking like the Browns' long-term answer at left tackle
According to Pro Football Focus, Fano has a 69.3 overall grade, which ranks 24th among 74 eligible players. However, the actual raw data shows better production than PFF's algorithm.
Over six weeks, the No. 9 overall pick has allowed a grand total of 12 pressures, including 11 hurries and one sack. That's two pressures per game, which is excellent for a rookie left tackle. It's even more impressive when you consider that half of Fano's total pressures allowed came in a single game (Week 3 vs. Carolina).
Other than that, Fano has gone two games without allowing a single pressure, and he's only allowed more than two pressures twice in his first six career games. He's been dealt some tough matchups, but he's held his ground more often than not.
Fano has also been called for just two penalties, one of which was declined.
about twatson:
Deshaun Watson has never been known for his quick decision-making. Also, he tends to take around eight steps on every dropback, making life difficult for his offensive linemen who are trying to give him a clean pocket. Even so, Fano has pushed guys out of the way to keep his quarterback's blindside clean way more often than not.
Watson is averaging 3.1 seconds to throw, which isn't particularly quick (in fact, it's tied for the third-slowest rate in the NFL). That stat illustrates how well the offensive line is holding up, though.

Tell that to Judkins. Or anyone else trying to run the ball. Tell them it was the QB that wasn't opening holes for them to run through.
And Watson finished with a QB Rating that was 37 points higher than Rogers'. But Rogers got 200 yards rushing from his gang. - And I don't even Like Watson.
