NFLPA seeking information regarding fines imposed by Browns
Posted by Mike Florio on November 6, 2009 10:51 AM ET
Lost in the confusion arising from the recent upheaval in Cleveland is the fact that coach Eric Mangini had been fining multiple players for a variety of actual and perceived infractions.
And now the NFL Players Association is trying to get to the bottom of it.
Per multiple league sources, the union has asked player agents to identify any players who have been fined by the Browns this year, including the amount of the fine and the reason for it.
The thinking is that, while some grievances have been filed challenging fines, other players have taken their medicine and moved on.
For some players, it might be too late to take action, since specific deadlines apply to the filing of a grievance. Still, it appears that the union is preparing to take a broader look at what's been going on in Cleveland.
Wow, even the NFL admits that Mangini is an a-hole.

the players association does.
the statement from the NFL is still on its way.

Is this like Tom Coughlin fining players for being on time and not five minutes early?
Gimme a break. Players file grievances ALL the time. If you know the rules and you're fined anyway, I think that's the player's problem.
If you're relying on Mike Florio for a)journalism or
fair treatment of anyone in Cleveland....you're in for a long wait.
