He's just being gracious because the Browns were bad today. Really bad. One of those fumbles was the result of a solid hit. TJ Ward on Rainey. The others are all on the running backs for being idiots and the int's are on Batch for having a 50 year old arm. If you don't like the facts it's not my problem. It's yours.
Keep them excuses coming, its entertaining at least. Not sure which is better, beating the steelers, or watching the butt-hurt fans clamber for excuses .
As much as people would like, in the end, there is no "Yea but" category. Just wins and losses. Browns defense played very well. We won, cry all you want, you lost the game. End of story.
I am just glad the Lerner era is over. I respect the guy, but he was not the best owner.
I grew up in Lakewood. Played for Lakewood. Our team is best known for the stadium that St Eds and St Ignatius uses as their home field. The St Eds rivalry was HUGE for us, but was not much of a rivalry as they usually stomp us. I was there during the Ryan Rustad years though, when we actually beat them. Lot of good football gets played in Lakewood.
I know I will honor him. First, I will find where he is buried, then, find the worst hole in the wall mexican restraunt I can. Spend 100 dollars on food there. Go to Art's grave naked, except for a Browns helmet, squat above the grave and let the honoring begin.
It just seems in the past 5-10 years or so the idea of letting a rookie sit on the sidelines and slowly lower him into the water is something that is becoming more and more rare. I don't know if its the fans who clammer for instant gratification, or teams looking for instant success. But most rookie QB's thrown directly into the fire do not do very well. Unless you have exceptional talent and are one of the once in a decade type QB's.
You guys are fucking stupid. It's no wonder Cleveland fans are a laughingstock.
Yes, its the fans, not the decades of failure thats the laughinstock....But hey, Weeden can hit clay ducks with amazing accuracy!! Thats gotta count for something right.
Its not so much the int's. Rookies are going to throw them. Its the lack of everything else. Obviously its way to soon to say hes going to be a bust, but I was disspointed thats for sure, Especially after the effort the defense gave. Maybe we'll lose out and have a chance at Barkley - keep the ol qb carousel a goin.
No, I thought maybe they might of eeked one out with a win, but it was garbage with a win or loss.
Not only do they not have souls, they are shitty football players.
They are airing the Bengals game here for some reason. It is to bad they dont have NFL games online. If they did I would ask someone to PM me and tell me where. But since they dont I guess I'm screwed.......
Amazing name too.
Yea, the 9'ers are going to go DEEP into the playoffs, with a stud like Alex Smith....Hes obviously better then Joe Montana, he has beaten the Bengals AND the Bucs. As for Jersey..
Beat the 5-0 Lions @ Detroit
Beat the 4-2 Bengals @ Cin
Beat the 4-2 Bucs by 45 points.
We beat the Eagles at Philly.
That's more quality wins than ANY team in the NFL right now.
The 49ers are favored by 9, and I put $$$ on the Niners just now, so I'm literally putting my money where my mouth is. That's how confident I am that we'll win and win big.
That doesn't mean I hate the Browns or hate the fans or city. Quite the opposite. But the Browns really aren't all that good. The closest to proof I can get are the DVOA ratings at pro football outsiders. Our offensive efficiency is 4th, defense efficiency is 4th, and special teams is 1st. Cleveland is 25, 29, and 23 respectively.
I sound like a douche. I'm just being honest.
Sorry, the only one in there that I see as quality, is Detroit. Bucs and Bengals are WAY worse then their record, Freeman has really fallen off. As for Philly, they are WAY overrated. Regardless of who you beat, we are eight weeks in and lot of you people are acting like you are the 49'ers from the 80's 90's. Not saying you cant be really happy about it, but going to other teams boards and talking trash like some people have, its laughable.
The only stat needed for Cleveland....
The 3 teams they've beaten have a combined 2 wins, all by Seattle, who they only beat in a 3 FG game at home...
Thats the truth!!!
Amazing, get a few wins and now you are talking smack on other teams boards? lol. Come back when you have some more quality wins, or some playoff wins. I mean this is like 600lb guy losing 10 lbs and going around telling people how to be healthy, all while being smug and douchey. Go set up the parade you guys will throw when you reach 7 wins, if theres one thing people from SF know , its parades. Really colorful loud parades.
My fellow Niner fans have come in here with nothing better to say other than Cleveland Sucks.
And Browns fans can only follow with the obvious SF gay jokes.
I preferred chatting with the Lions fans. They were at least adults who understood and could talk stats and scheme.
Well, if you look at our schemes, I just don't buy the argument that the 3-4 is a better defense. Obviously if you have superior talent on your roster you will have a superior product like the Steelers' 3-4. But that goes for a 4-3 as well. The 4-3 run by the Buccaneers was phenomenal with Lynch, Brooks, Rice, Sapp, McFarland, Barber, etc. There is no evidence I can find anywhere that shows that one is vastly superior to the other over a long span. Obviously, in any given year, the better team defenses can come from one scheme, but that is just coincidence.
As for your schemes, being from SF, you guys just scheme other men right??
Again, classic stupid head up their ass Cleveland fan. Its pointless to go into all the reasons you are wrong to jump ship so quickly. So I will just call you stupid. You sir, are stupid.
Some of you people are so xxxxing stupid. Know nothing about football. Thats the problem with a lot of Cleveland fans. Guy hasnt even started a full season and people are screaming for his head. He has shown more promise and poise then any recent Cleveland QB. He is young, he is not going to be Tom Brady in his first few seasons. Actually WATCH him play, and pay attention to why he does not have better stats. You have to look at what he has, or rather DOESNT have. Please, remove your head from your ass, or shut up.
I just hope it truly is just strep throat. Whenever something like this happens, I always have a fear in the back of my mind that its more then they are saying. "Oh he has strep" Then it comes out he was involved in a double homicide.
Hey zomdick, diid you watch the game?? Miami basically owned us the whole game(except the last 3 minutes). Miami basically gave us the game!
Last time I looked, there is no "Pretty wins" category, just wins. Our D held up when it counted, and our offense made the plays when it counted, and unlike many previous Browns QB's and teams, when things start to go bad, it seems Colt always pulls a drive out of his ass. Where before when things started to go bad, they got worse, then WAY worse. No way some negative nancy is going to ruin this for me, the Browns are 2-1, and tied for the lead. thats all that matters.
