IT'S GAME DAY!! -
Mayfield or Mahomes -
Mayfield or MahomesOnly 1 preseason game completed.
Watched Mahomes last night. He sucked and could not move the offense. Perhaps its nothing, but I believe he will be a bust. The Chiefs always draft the wrong QB and moved up in the wrong draft.

IT'S GAME DAY!!Mayfield had nice pocket presence. Moved around and got out of trouble to buy more time. I only saw 2 wild passes that he threw because the blitz was coming. 1 play looked like a screen that blew up and he threw it away. All the other passes including incompletions were in the neighborhood. Mayfield looked in control. He has some Alex Smith in him picking up 1st downs with his rushing.
Its only a meaningless game, but nonetheless hopefully Callaway and Mayfield continue to look great.

IT'S GAME DAY!!Well, I got screwed. directv mistakenly blocked out the game in my area. They're going to hear about it. I deserve some compensation for this screw up. How long does it take for the geeks to unblock a channel to an area? Apparently, they just don't care anymore.
Bro
Next time go to Reddit https://www.reddit.com/r/nflstreams/
I watch the games for free. They set up all the games 90 minutes prior to kick off. Every game was on there last night including the Browns. Some stream are better than others and you may need to try a few in the thread, but usually I can find a good one that does not buffer too much. I take a long USB cable and hook an old laptop to my TV.

Heinz gives up Pittsburgh stadium sponsorshipAs I understand it, the Heinz company is about to give up its naming rights to the Steeler stadium.
However, fans of that team should not worry....another company has stepped forward to fill in the void.
That company is: TOTO, you know, the company whose name you see about every time you step into a public restroom, but along with this stadium naming sponsorship deal, TOTO insisted on a certain unique condition, which is evident here:

That place stinks.

Dynasties, Near DynastiesBuffalo Bills
Jim Kelly, Marv Levy, Bill Polian, Bruce Smith, Thurman Thomas, Andre Reed.

Cory Coleman TradedPerhaps, though, in looking at this more closely....it does seem that Bryant has a much lower catch to target ratio than even some of these guys. Only 52%.
LaFell 58+%. Coleman 62%. Maclin 55.5%
Why/how would that be?
Approximately 30% of his passes are deep or bombs.
Lower completion rate passes.

steelers new "dollar" defense formationYou know they are going to run this
VS 4 and 5 wide empty backfield.
The spread is about creating match ups. Quick passing timing offense that is disrupted by bracketing WRs.
Its a numbers game too. I rush 3 DLs against your 6 guys at the line of scrimmage gives me the manpower advantage behind the defensive line.

Why is Jackson Painting Himself Into a Corner?Might be interesting to see how everything plays out with Tyrod's 2018 season with the "new look BEOWNS" and maybe new philosophy of not trying to kill newbie QBs coming up since 1999.
BROWNS v28.0? For sure a great choice for Hard Knocks on a TV near you tomorrow .....or maybe your favorite bar.
I see Taylor playing really good.
Need Dez though.
-
Why is Jackson Painting Himself Into a Corner?Remember that Mayfield signed a #1 player contract.....no financial incentives needed there.
Also your team always wants/needs a good backup quarterback unless Mayfield just falls apart it is his job in 2019 if not late 2018.
The money part of it applies to Taylor.
An extension means that Taylor must be the starter.
-
Why is Jackson Painting Himself Into a Corner? How many years did Rodgers sit on the bench learning before he came in full time and performed lights out from day one?
That is what I hope for the Browns, the luxury of waiting to open a bottle of fine wine when it is ready.
Spot on Aggie.
Brady sat 1 year. Dorsey is clever. If youre Mayfield what are you thinking when Dorsey is talking about an extension for Taylor?
Youre pi$$ed. Thats supposed to Mayfields job next year, but now Dorsey has given Taylor and Mayfield incentive to work harder.

This new helmet ruleTherein lies the dilemma.
When Greg Robinson was in concussion protocol Hue said, these things happen, it's football. - I'm certain that an NFL marketing man would've cringed hearing that.
I've loved football since I was a little boy (the latter part of Jim Brown's career). I now have two grandboys, 2 and 4 and a half years old respectively. I wouldn't point them towards playing football. It's not good at all for the human body and I couldn't, in good conscience, advise it. But I'll buy them a guitar, or whatever musical instrument they'd like to learn. And they could play tennis, softball, basketball, etc, etc.
The NFL has to put on the good face that they are proactive warding off brain injuries for liability purposes.
The game has changed. Today, 200 lb DBs are fast and hit like LBs. There is no way to condition ligaments, connective tissue and brains for this type of impact.
Beginning of 2018 season the NFL will call 20 penalties a game for helmet contact and the product will suffer. End of the season you will see the same penalty called infrequently.
