When they were incompetent to begin with? Very hard.
We've gotten our asses handed to us more and more 3 games in a row. He keeps talking about fits and coordinated defense. He talks a good game but I haven't seen one thing come to pass that he said his team would be about. Competance is knowing where to be. His guys - by his own admittance - are not where they should be.
....and this doesn't equate into 100% blame.
Hey these are his guys. And he did draft 2 WR's and a DE changing positions on a team that could not afford any of those. We didn't need projects, we needed players that could step in and play positions of greater need. LB, RT, RG - all of these were available at where we picked.
Daboll wasn't his first choice; Callahan was. The Jets wouldn't let Callahan or Schottenheimer out of their deals. I can't argue with you here. Brian Daboll is a good coach from what I've seen first hand but you're right on this one.
I understood he could not get Callahan and Shotty, but when you come into our situation, with unknowns at the QB position, and a team that hasn't scored a TD in forever, and on top of that a new system, I would have preferred someone not new to the position in the NFL.
With the Raiders? Rob Ryan is not the problem here and you know it. Guys have been in position time and again to make plays and they're not shedding blocks and they're not making tackles.
Rob Ryan's defense is notorious for being run upon. That is a fact.
Which WR would YOU have drafted? By season's end, MoMass will be starting opposite Edwards.
I wouldn't have drafted WR, not on this team in 2009. We can't run the ball or stop the run. As I said WR is the last position we needed. LB, RG, RT.
The kid is changing positions. I don't know why he's held back but it's too soon to bail on this kid. I think he can play.
I like the kid too. But not when he can't play this season, and is a project at best. Too big a gamble on a team that NEEDS PLAYERS NOW!
Singly? Solely responsible? REALLY?! None of the players or the opponents had anything to do with this?
He is responsible for getting his team ready to play on Sunday. Don't tell me they looked ready vs DEN and BAL. They looked like shit, and that is on him AND the players. They don't coach themselves.
Eric Mangini's Jets were the least penalized team in the league the last three years. That's a FACT.
Yeah, and I am not seeing that here. That is my point. All his "it's a process" BS isn't getting it done. I don't mind 0-3, I mind the way we got to 0-3. RAC could've produced this, and in fact did.
You can't be serious. So, Eric Mangini is supposed to get out there and show these guys collecting NFL paychecks where to line up and how to tackle? Seems to me that there were people on this board who found it "refreshing" in camp when they worked on "tackling" since RAC's teams never did that. Hmm. Maybe these guys stink SO bad that they STILL can't tackle.
Mangini is responsible for everything that happens on that field. If he doesn't have people getting it done, make a change. He made that change, now show me you know what to do with it. Plenty of teams take on the personality of their coach - I am not like the personality of this team, and their play shows this. That's all I am trying to say
I'm sure he expected to go 0-3. Come on dude. You sounded like a smart enough poster until you unleashed all of this "Woe is me" crap.
I am a fan. I expect better when we hire a guy like Mangini. I didn't expect much - and in fact I am one of the FEW posters that said 4-5 wins.
Actually, he's made it easier on the players since they aren't really supposed to say much. He draws a load of negative attention onto himself and shoulders the load
BS. Those are stupid positions to put your players in, and it made no difference. He outsmarted himself. That was a dumb move, and his players were laughing stocks for the coach.
You've fallen into the 0-3 trap. Give up. Yeah, that's right. You've seen enough. This is what fans of other teams and ESPN WANT from Browns' fans. They want you guys to cry yourselves to sleep so that they can marginalize your team as unimportant. By the way...the poison was here when he arrived.
No I haven't fallen into any trap. I want a turn around of the team. All I hear is no players, no players, no players. We said the same for Butch, RAC and now Mangini. Coach them up!!! Place them in better positions to succeed. Scheme better. WTF these guys are world class athletes. We're not like the Raiders when we drafted that safety in the 2nd round this year and every GM's jaw dropped. These guys were players of note, and we cannot get anything out of them? BS, BS, BS. Coach them the fook up already.
