There is still much to done and tonight it showed, nevertheless the first team offense was missing some very key players and the O-line had some problems yet the team managed to capitalize on opportunities provided by the defense and a nice stand alone drive..

Im getting pretty excited about the new systems, the coaching, Colt McCoy and this teams chances of potentially competing for a wildcard or better this year if it all comes together and things go click..

As for jarrad brown he is way to green to be our 3rd QB but dockery likely locked or is close to locking a roster spot after tonight...

Smith needs to learn to keep 2 hands on the ball and sheard finally did something..

I am enjoying browns football more than i have in 4 years and its only the pre-season..

Go Browns!

Well said I think were in for a better brand of offense from our offensive minded head coach. On defense we should be better this year DQ looks great. There doing a much better job of getting players to match the systems they want to run. Just wish they could do it faster LOL. Biggest concern for me is team speed we have gotten a lot younger, little more physical, but not really faster. We still look like a slow football team to me with the exception of the secondary and DQ.

I agree with just about everything except the defensive play calling. Juran is a conservative coach we won't see much blitzing during the regular season. He was forcing CB's to cover man on man and seeing who can cover and who can get to the QB. I believe because it's preseason there evaluating what they have. As far as the D-line goes I think we all knew the pass rush would be a big problem especially with no real DE's.

For there first game after a two weeks of practice and new systems and coaches I'm pleased. I still think were 5-6 win team. We also beat Green Bay last preseason to.

I understand what the WCO is but I really don't know all the teams that run it. Can someone tell me which teams below used it and where is the trend going? Here is a list of the Super Bowl winner as of late.

XXIV 01/28/90 San Francisco 49ers 55–10 Denver Broncos

XXV 01/27/91 New York Giants 20–19 Buffalo Bills

XXVI 01/26/92 Washington Redskins 37–24 Buffalo Bills

XXX 01/28/96 Dallas Cowboys 27–17 Pittsburgh Steelers

XXXI 01/26/97 Green Bay Packers 35–21 New England Patriots

XXXII 01/25/98 Denver Broncos 31–24 Green Bay Packers

XXXIII 01/31/99 Denver Broncos 34–19 Atlanta Falcons

XXXIV 01/30/00 St. Louis Rams 23–16 Tennessee Titans

XXXV 01/28/01 Baltimore Ravens 34–7 New York Giants

XXXVI 02/03/02 New England Patriots 20–17 St. Louis Rams

XXXVII 01/26/03 Tampa Bay Buccaneers 48–21 Oakland Raiders

XXXVIII 02/01/04 New England Patriots 32–29 Carolina Panthers

XXXIX 02/06/05 New England Patriots 24–21 Philadelphia Eagles

XL 02/05/06 Pittsburgh Steelers 21–10 Seattle Seahawks

XLI 02/04/07 Indianapolis Colts 29–17 Chicago Bears

XLII 02/03/08 New York Giants 17–14 New England Patriots

XLIII 02/01/09 Pittsburgh Steelers 27–23 Arizona Cardinals

I would go with an O-lineman that will give us three first round picks on that line that will be together for a long time. Get a TE, WR in FA then draft defense and a RB.

What about Jason Campbell would he already know this WC offense?

I think when Holgrem sees how many plays both QB's leave on on field he will want another QB, but when looks at all the holes he has to fill he parades Quinn out there for another year and see's if he can improve.

I say we go WCO for sure as far a Mangini he could keep him and the 3-4 like Tomlin in Pittsburgh he's a 4-3 defensive coach. With more teams going 3-4 Holgrem might be open to it. I guess it will depend on his evaluation of the players.

The only thing Mangini has done correctly this season is put Quinn back at the helm.

He did screw up the QB's but when you have no ties to either QB and neither one throw with any accuracy with any type of consistency I can see why his stupid competition went on so long. But out of the 25+ players he turned how many are starting for other teams, like 5 maybe. I think getting us some picks and lots of cap room are good moves for next year. He did install discipline and accountability. It's hard to cut a 4-12 team and make them winners in a year, just ask the coaches of Detroit, St Louis, KC, Oakland.

I can say this team is bad as they are do look more organized and have sense of purpose, and play hard. I think the GM should give Mangini another season. We need major help drafting and an OC.

Are we really over thinking this? Whose to say Holgrem won't hire someone to be the GM. Shouldn't there be a President, GM, Coach seems to me Learner needs to hire two guys.

If Mangini wins out which is possible(not likely) he would have matched last years record with less talent, acquired four draft picks, freed a lot of cap room from what I heard, and beat Pittsburgh. I would think Holgrem have to at least consider keeping him but on shorter leash.

I always thought Palmer would have been ok if Dwight Clark wasn't in charge of the draft. Oh I think he beat Pittsburgh twice.

I had no problem with the play calling today. This team needs identity and needs to be a running team. You have to keep running it even if the defense knows it. We have never had a good run blocking line if we keep doing it we can become a good running team. This is two weeks in a row we had good running games with different backs. If we start to get anything from the passing game and defense off the field on 3rd and long we might string a couple wins down the stretch. Mangina has 27 new players this year and only Winslow, Davis and now Edwards are starters which means we have nothing but junk to work with. I think hammering the fundamentals playing close to the vest THIS year is the way to go.

If we come out with a plan of "establishing the run", then Dabol is officially on the watch list.

After watching AFC Playbook on NFL network he's already on my list. I noticed during the game last week that a lot of Quinns completions are to stationary targets. When they were showing the Browns they showed 3 receivers running the exact same pattern, run straight down the field, stop and turn and face the qb, Quinn sacked. They said they did this a lot. Then the NFL network guys nicknamed our offense "The Flying Mangini's" and were really laughing it up on how conservative were are.

Dabol makes M. Carthon look like Bill Walsh.

Lets use the full playbook were told Quinn's run every play that Tom Brady has run and this guy suppose to be so smart and all.

Brady Quinn is young and it is way to early to judge what his impact will be long term

He is a product of a gameplan that lacks a running game and inexpereince in the receiving corps. The offensive line was also a very problematic area

By not naming a starter earlier in training camp left us with no synergy from qb to receiver

Well said.

I also see the throws he completes are to stationary targets mostly. He seems to have a lot of accuracy issues of his own. I thought Denver ran the same offense if that's the case there way ahead of us. They actually look like they practiced all summer.

Even Rich Cannon said at the end "you need at least an established NFL receiver to complement BE" not Cribbs. He was not knocking Cribbs he did say Cribbs is great special teams guy just not a NFL caliber receiver. I agree the sooner that experiment ends the better. Give him a couple wild cat plays at most.

There's a reason the qb competition was so close there both not starter material. This line does not run block, but I disagree with most on pass blocking. I thought they gave average protection the last two weeks. For a dinker dunk offense Quinn holds the ball to long, 3-4 seconds he's still looking and eats it.

Being too careful not make a mistake is probably pretty common for a young qb he will get better. He would get better a lot faster if we were able to protect him more with a solid run game. Were mediocre at best running the ball.

We have to overpay because we stunk for 10 years.

I would not say to conservative. I liked the commitment to run the ball, but did not like all runs from the shotgun or the wild cat on the goal line. Once they went up by two scores there D really brought the pressure and we did not adjust. Whenever Quinn tried to go to a WR they were covered pretty tight no real separation from what I could tell. A rookie OC and Cribbs at receiver kind of concerns me. I love Cribbs but not as a wideout and Furry is serviceable at best.

6-10

No speed on defense and offensive line does not run block well. Were still to soft and slow but we should be better coached.

Tenn. has been without two starters on there oline and have averaged like 2.5 yard per carry so far. That being said they are still in a another league than we are so I was some what encouraged considering how we looked against Green Bay.

He's like the "The Bus" with a flat tire. Were stuck with him hope he does well.
