Players claim they are not giving up meanwhileCleveland Clowns? Browns, first-year coach Mangini seen as a joke by critics after 0-3 start
By Tom Withers (CP) – 2 hours ago
BEREA, Ohio — Now that the Detroit Lions have finally won, there's an open debate over which team is the NFL's worst, the lowest of the low.
Now that's a category where the Cleveland Browns can contend.
Their coach is under attack from all sides. Their fans are revolting against the owner. Their starting quarterback has been benched.
The Browns are down - and being kicked. Unnecessary roughness?
"Not really," Pro Bowl nose tackle Shaun Rogers said Thursday. "We're kind of bad right now."
Kind of? Winless after three games, outscored 95-29 - 61-9 in the past two games - and showing signs that they may have given up on first-year coach Eric Mangini and this young season already, the Browns are hoping to turn things around Sunday against the Cincinnati Bengals, who are coming off an upset against Super Bowl-champion Steelers.
The Browns need a win. Badly.
"It's oh so important," Rogers said. "Not just to win, but to have a good showing. "
"I'd love to win, but I would just love to see us compete this week, really."
It's hard to imagine it getting any worse for the Browns, but with 13 games left, it could.
During an embarrassing 34-3 loss last week in Baltimore, Cleveland's defence gave up three rushing touchdowns in which the Ravens running backs went into the end zone untouched. The fact that not a single Browns player laid a finger on either Willis McGahee or Ray Rice led to outside speculation that the Browns had already quit on Mangini.
"No way," Browns guard Hank Fraley said. "Not in this locker room. "
"Guys aren't giving up. Guys aren't going out there not to win or to lay an egg or anything like that. The guys in this locker-room are all pulling for each other. We all want to win and turn this ship upright."
"We're 0-3, but the season hasn't been lost yet. There are a lot of games to be played."
Meanwhile, Mangini is beginning to get some heat.
Less than one-quarter of the way through his first season with the Browns, Mangini, who has fined players for breaking his team rules, is being brutalized by the national media. Columnists, bloggers, TV analysts, former players, they're all taking their shots at the coach once dubbed "Mangenius" by New York's tabloids.
He's viewed as more of a tackling dummy now.

Ultimatum TimeStan is full of shit, Inspecta wasn't banned until this morning around 1030am, weirdly around the same time Stan first opened this thread.
Also the reason given for inspecta's ban was that he was and I quote "due to repeatedly attempting to get members to go to another board after one of the main causes of the thread monopoly with Lumbergh"
Uhhh huhh....
But keep the PR machine rollin' stan!!!!!

thin-skinned Inspecta got a time out fit for a six-year old.So mz the pussy starts the thread calling it an ultimatum doesn't get banned, however inspecta does because he agrees with the OP?
Sounds more like the mods/admin were the thin skinned ones involved. The slightest critisism of the management earns you a banning, but everything else is cool cause we're all manly men, just don't talk shit about the mods/admin because they aren't really manly men at all, and are actually quite self conscience about their abilities to run this place.
That's what they basically said when they banned inspecta.
Good job boys, as you know actions speak louder than words, and that action spoke VOLUMES.

Did we ban Inspecta and not Lums (who has left anyway)? Inspecta is one of the best posters on the board, and the board is only as good as the posters here. So if that happened, the board just got significantly weaker. Can't do that. Bad, BAD call. A lot of people were pissed about Lum's hijacking of every thread, the redundancy of his insults, his overall worthlessness... probably a majority. He was irritating, obnoxious, and he's nothing remotely close to a Browns fan. To lash out at the people who see him for what he is?
Whiff. Really bad whiff.
Whiff is exactly correct

Camp mangini opensAnother take from Mary Kay
Extra points: Guard Eric Steinbach was back in action at left guard after missing last week. . . . Jamal Lewis (ankle) was present but idle while coming back from his ankle scope. . . . Safety Abe Elam picked off a deep pass from Anderson to Lance Leggett and D'Qwell Jackson made a rolling pick of a deep Anderson ball
that was deflected. Many players had to take laps for mistakes during the pair of soggy two-hour sessions, including Akron native Bryan Williams for a facemask, Quinn, Shaun Smith and Syndric Steptoe.Im glad you included the extra point in this article! I bet running laps is a new adventure in Berea.

Cleveland Browns RumorsI have a hard time believing they would make this trade even up. I'd think there would have to be more for the Browns than a well traveled, soon to be 31 year old RB.
That very well may be why it hasn't happened yet. The Browns want more.
We can give him and lewis a set of rocking chairs to sit on the sidelines.

Cleveland Browns RumorsJones for Edwards deal possible?
Updated: Edwards deal possible
Tony Grossi of the Cleveland Plain Dealer suggests the dealing between the Jets and Browns might not be over.
Grossi said he believes a swap of Thomas Jones for Braylon Edwards would make sense for both teams. Jones and Edwards are both unhappy with their contracts. Jones has sat out all of the Jets' voluntary workouts after leading the AFC in rushing with 1,312 yards last season. The Jets traded up in the third round to draft Iowa RB Shonn Greene and they also have Leon Washington in the backfield.
Edwards has been linked to trade rumors for months, but stayed put on draft weekend. The Jets and Browns made a deal on day one for Gang Green to move up and select Mark Sanchez with the fifth pick. Then the Browns used two second-round picks on receivers -- Brian Robiskie (Boston College) and Mohammed Massaquoi (Georgia). The teams apparently have a good relationship with ex-Jets head coach Eric Mangnini now running the show in Cleveland.
Grossi also says that if the Jets released the disgruntled running back, "Mangini would scoop up Jones in a New York second ..."
Wednesday, Grossi pointed out how the Browns are stockpiling receivers perhaps preparing to part with Edwards.
Grossi writes, "Until proven otherwise, we've got to assume a trade of Braylon Edwards is still being explored. Surely he's not scoring points with Mangini by missing the "voluntary" offseason conditioning workouts. ... Securing a No. 1 pick in 2010 for Edwards now would give the Browns some comfort moving forward."
