One other interesting fact, in 2009 Barkevious Mingo was voted "best name of the year"! LSU fans had "something to do with that"!

Hi, new member, LSU Tiger fan, a Mingovian (disciple of Barkevious Mingo) who wants to watch his development in the NFL.

Here are a few tidbits you may not be aware of, Mingo did not play high school football until his Jr. year, he was a track runner, and very good at it.

In fact, you may be surprised to learn that one of those state champ sprinters was current Tigers defensive end Barkevious Mingo of West Monroe. Mingo, now 6-5, 240, anchored West Monroe's state championship Class 5A 400-meter relay squad.

He also ran a leg on the Rebels' second place 1,600-meter relay team, was fifth in the 200 (21.85) and sixth in the 400 (49.54).

He can't do that any more after gaining 40 pounds, but I still see sprinter speed underlying his game. I hope you enjoy him as much as we did when he was in Baton Rouge.

I never heard of him getting in any trouble, either.
