this was actually Hoyer's 2nd bad game in a row. He now has the worst completion % in the league. Only 1 full time starter has thrown less TD passes and he has one less game played. and Hoyer has the nerve to say get rid of Manziel or I wont come back..
I agree that he hasn't done near enough to start making demands in terms of what the front office needs to do personnel wise. But if you are going to do things like that during the week, you better not shit the bed on Sunday.
Hoyer had one awful game... he's better than he played on Sunday. He may not be the story that ESPN and others were trying to turn him into this week (the second coming of Kurt Warner led sportscenter a lot this week), but he's not as bad as he looked Sunday. It is true, however, that Bortles was the worst QB on the field Sunday. He had one impressive drive where he led the Jags down field for a score (after the Browns should have kicked a field goal to make it a two score game). I think Bortles has some potential, but to say that the Browns should've drafted him?? This season he has 5 TD, 10 picks, and two fumbles. QBR of 35. I'll pass on that guy with the third pick.
I was at the game on Sunday and in all my years of following Cleveland sports, I have never been more embarrassed than I was walking out of EverBank field early because the Browns were getting hammered by the fucking Jacksonville Jaguars. To add to that, I have to wait 45 minutes for a damn water taxi as I watch Jags fans pile into their yachts and talk shit to all of the Browns fans standing in line for taxis. Just when you think things are going well, the Browns have what looks like 3 wins in a row coming up, just beat the shit out of the Steelers, the Cavs season starts soon with a real championship contender, and then you get kicked in the nuts just to remind you that yes, you are still a Cleveland fan.
I agree that the D is a question mark, but I still feel like going into this week, it will be enough to contain the Jags. The already horrible Jags running game may be worse for wear this week (according to reports Toby Gerhart missed practice again yesterday). Bortles has shown glimpses of pretty good quarterback play, especially if you account for the awful line in front of him; but he has also shown the tendency to make some bad rookie mistakes and it ends up costing his team in the form of interceptions and missed opportunities. I hope that the Browns come to town with the mentality that they are the superior team (something that we've not been able to say very often) and go about the business of crushing any hope the Jags have from the get-go.
Local radio predicting a Jags win this weekend... however, the only rationale that could be given was "The Jags have to win a game sometime, why not this one?"
I have actually watched two Jaguars games in their entirety this season (the only AFC game on in this area and the wife refuses to have a sat dish on the house). They are without question the worst NFL team I have ever watched. The have no one who is an offensive threat outside of Bortles and if you can name half the guys that start for them on defense off the top of your head (no Google, no rosters) I'd buy you a steak. The O-line is unbelievably bad... I actually thought that they might hold Bortles out this season just to save him from getting his ass kicked every week. The craziest part of this week's game is on the local radio down here before the season started, there were people legitimately talking about the Jags making the playoffs. And not just drunk call-ins... there were dudes who are paid to work at radio stations who actually believed the Jags could make the playoffs this year.
Jag4Life- I'm new to the area in Jacksonville and am planning on going to the game this weekend... any recommendations on where to eat, park, etc. before the game?
