I had the opportunity to watch every stinking Brown's game this season. For the purpose of this topic, I am going to act as GM and Coach and put together 2009 Cleveland Browns based on the 2008 depth chart to help owner Randy Lerner make an informed decsion. I have separated the categories in terms of starters and those who should be traded, wavied or benched. I have also filled in players who were injured throughout year and may come back. I welcome other members of this forum to help me fill in the blanks either through the draft or free agency. There is nothing scientific about this nor do I have hair resembling Mel Kiper. Let's have some fun. Here we go.

Pluto is right. Chud is now looking like the second coming of Maurice Carthon.

Marty back in Cleveland similar to Gibbs in Washington, Parcells in Dallas. That said, new DC is Marvin Lewis, Chud stays on as OC, Kosar comes in as QB coach to mentor BQ and teach him to shrug off Chud when he sends in an off tackle run play when the Browns are 3rd down and 25.

I have always liked Marty. The key question is what to do with Savage. By the way, great comment by Dan Fouts after Cribbs launched a 50 yard pass to Edwards who appeared to come down with the ball in-bounds, but was called out. No challenge from the Browns. Fouts: "What do you have to lose in challenging the play, someone is a sleep on the Browns sideline." Prophetic statement of the 08 Browns.

Diehard fan here. I threatened my family that I was going to light a bonfire in my backyard and torch everything that said Cleveland Browns. Told a co-worker today that I am now going to root for the Ravens since they were the old Browns and are winining (not to mention a super bowl title). However, as I type this rant, I am wearing my Browns apparel and looking at my Bernie Kosar and Ozzie Newsome autograph photos. No matter how much I hate them this week and the next week for their crappy play and inept coaching, much like the last thirty-two years, I will always be in front of my NFL Sunday Ticket rooting for them while having a heart attack at the same time. The Browns are unique in the world of the NFL thats why they have a zillion fans around the globe. And count me as one of them for the rest of the time I am on this Earth.

GO BROWNS!!!!!!!!!!

Here is the plan:

Cowher comes in and takes over as coach.

Bernie is the new QB coach to mentor BQ.

Chud stays on for some continunity on offense

Mike Nolan is the new defensive coordinator

Tucker and RAC open a Krispy Kreme franchise.

Just watched the after game press conference. RAC appears resigned to the fact that he has lost his job. His tone and body language says it all.

Start with the coaching staff and goes from there. What was so great to promote Mel "Drive-in" Tucker to Defensive coordinator? What did the organization see in Mel that no one else saw that he was the next Jim Johnson, Monte Kiffen, Rex Ryan? Who made the decision? What when into that decision? Did they know that he was a DB coach with a poor track record? Better yet, was he providing sexual favors to RAC?

On a related note, did you see Brandon Mcdonald get burned for another TD. I am glad he is still starting. Maybe its time to bring in Hamza Abdullah. What happend to that guy? Is he hanging out with Steve Sanders?

Agreed. RAC does not know his team. Goes to show you its time to show him the door. Yes, Browns were 10-6 last year, but with a soft schedule. Chud is inexperience as well as an O coordinator and its showing up this year.

Have not given up on BQ. Have given up on RAC. It's that simple.

Goes to show you there is no/no game planning by the clowns coaching staff. The Texans had one of the worst run defensives in the NFL. That's why you throw every down. It just makes so much sense (heavy on the sarcasm)

Bring back Lindy!! Although if he passed away, still better O' coordinator from the grave.

Remember when Savage said once we go to Quinn there is no turning back? Well, RAC took another step backwards. Looks like he is calling Seattle to bring back Charlie "lead foot" Fry.

Horrible game plannig by the coaching staff. I heard Sam Rutigliano is being considered on a temp. coaching basis.

What a disaster for a team!! It all starts with the head coach. RAC will be fired by weeks end. Chud takes over on a temp basis. He is let go after the season because he does not know how to game plan. Fact: The Texans had one of the worse rushing defense's in the NFL, but its best the Browns pass every frigging down. Chud is my new moron.

Can Sam Rutigliano come back and coach?

I have been on the dump RAC bandwagon especially after watching the Ravens-Broncos debacles. If there is a decision by Lerner et all to keep RAC, my arm chair guess is the following record the Browns need to achieve:

8-8

9-7

10-6

If RAC is fired with a even or winining record much hue and cry will put forth from the local and national media. Lerner will look foolish. I do think Mel "Drive-In" Tucker likely stays on. They share a few donuts during early morning game film watching every Monday. Upgrades will be made in the obivious places on defense. That said, Browns could have a much softer schedule next year.

My ten cents worth of analysis

RAC is pissed because he finally realized that Harrison was on the team. Up until tonight, Harrison just popped up in game films with RAC asking, "When did we sign this guy?"

Phil-Cribbs Browns players of the year with a close second to big baby (rodgers)
