I don't have to explain to you in detail why Weeden isn't the guy going forward. Honestly, I shouldn't have to explain. But since 85% of this fanbase is completely illiterate to what it takes tp attain championship football, overwhelming pressure is there for me to to go from Point A-to-Point Z as to why Weeden is a back up and why Richardson is not worth a top 5 pick years before that stateoment becomes an outright bonafide fact.

Browns are not in a position of strength as much as you think. If the Browns don't get RGIII, Flynn will be their only option as a possible upgrade over McCoy and that's not a given. All these tea-leaves about the Browns gushing over Tannehill are puzzling. Even without a RGIII trade up, they have no chance to get Tannehill at #22 and they won't pick him at #4... so why keep talking about him?

Media hype is surrounding the guy. But he was a one year wonder at a football program that was unremarkable. Granted so was Ben Roethlisberger, but Ben is 6'5" and bigger. Plus, RGIII specializes in throwing the deep ball, is remarkably fast and had great interviews (which has prompted the hype).

The only agressive QB move made since Couch was drafted was Quinn (Couch career was cut short because he was brutalized by hits and Quinn got no chance at all).

Roethlisberger can be considered anywhere between the 3rd and 6th best QB in the league -- and have 3 Super Bowl appearances and a number of NFL records to his credit. Joe Thomas is the best LT in football. Every single time, the 3rd-6th best QB has more impact on winning than the best LT, or the best CB, G, TE, or NT. I get the idea about getting RGIII, but a guy with no proven ability to consistently be accurate at throwing between 5-20 yards, no does anyone know is mental toughness when it comes down to converting that tough 3rd and 8. My point is, do you want to sacrifice all those draft picks where you can stack up a team and get a better QB in the future, one that can walk into a loaded situation like Ben and Rogers did. Or do you want to go after a short, small deep ball specialist with a pedigree of Akali Smith or Jeff Blake?

The core right now is 3 d-linemen, 1 or 2 LB's, 1 CB, 1S, 2 or 3 OL, 1 WR, 1 kicker and Cribbs. That's 13 people on 25 position roster. About 50% of the team. Add another 5 this year and we hit 72%. Another year, and we could have 5 more (92%) and a solid team. Once we're there, then I would give up a lot for a franchise QB in either FA or the draft. Until then, we can only afford to pay so much. We can't risk losing the farm again.

If you're going to give up the second 1st rounder, why not add a 4th this year and a 3rd + 5th next year?

This no time to play cute. If you include the second 1st, you add the 3rds and 4ths to seal the deal.

You all over over-complicating this so much. Browns are in a position of leverage across the board. In every round their pick is higher than the Redskins so they don't have to 'beat' the Redskins offer of even equal it. They can offer significantly less and still have a higher grade draft package.

Why would they do that when they can just take the Browns offer to begin with?

First things first, outside two blind passes, every throw he made was fantastic. He makes great decisions in the pocket. He read defenses accurately and made them pay with precision beams to his wideouts in full stride.

All the supposed 'weaknesses' RGIII has, this video dispels them. He comfortably took snaps under center and 'threw open' receivers in hot reads.

But more importantly, he displayed unparalleled composure that's obvious even though this game was played four months ago. Watching plays that include his incomplete passes gives you the sense of pace and steadiness he plays with.

Three 1st would be too much only because we have #4 and #22 pick this year!! If we add a 2013 2nd, Washington would have to add three 1st + more to beat that!

And your definition of a rational offer for RGIII may be different than the next person's, but ultimately, OT comes down to how much you believe in a certain player.

This is where having balls to have a vision as a front office. I see what they're trying to do on defense. I see the unit coming together nicely.

But what about the quarterback?

The team is lost offensively because they have no general. Browns are in a position to trade for a game changing talent. They can have him if they are willing to have balls as a FO to seal the deal. Outside a Ditka-like trade, Griffin should be a Brown. The pick is available. The Browns are in the best draft slot to get him and have extra picks to leverage the deal through.

Again, the Redskins can pony up some crazy offer that will force the Browns to wave the white flag, but 2012 #6, #38, #70, 2013 1st is not it. If we lose out on RGIII, would have to see the Redskins give up #1 picks in 2012, 2013, 2014 + filler to believe the Browns did everything they could to get him.

You all just don't stop with the rationalism. It's very unbecoming, IMO.

The fact of the matter is the blueprints has been laid before. Giants did it having veterans and the Browns can do it with youth. Griffin can come in here and mature with the pieces we have in place and what we will get in the draft and free agency for years to come.

I mean, its really that simple. Just because you give up two 1st this year and a 2nd next year doesn't mean you can't add impact players via the draft. That's the most frustrating thing reading people who feel Griffin will cost too must. They're not giving a second thought on what happens if Griffin is franchise QB, but they will cry about losing picks that don't have any real value just because they could be starters in the future.

That's what I call having the mind of a loser. No offense with that, but that's how it males me feel.

Now, did the Giants fanbase sit there and make excuses for losing by saying "We're 30th in the league in offense, what's Manning going to do to change that?"

No, of course not. But then again, the Giants fanbase is accustomed to winning championships and they knew Kerry Collins wasn't going to be that player for them anymore.

So in addition to trading for Manning in 2004, the Giants brought in Kurt Warner to hold the fort at QB for a year.

In 2005, they signed Plaxico Burress and by the end of the season, the Giants were 3rd in offense and Manning is throwing for 4000 yards a year.

Now you may say Kerry was old but the guy had an established track record 50 miles longer than Colt McCoy. Giants made a transcending front office decision and they are reaping the rewards still today.

Continue to make excuses all you want but with no quarterback, the team has no vision or guidance or identity!!
