We continue to not utilize OBJ and Landry correctly.  They are YAC WRs.  Get ball in their hands let them run after catch.

Was saying exactly that well before, and during the game. It didn't happen though. The play calling from the start was terrible, and once you're in that hole its hard to justify changing to a quick slant from the bunch or screen playbook, but its what they needed to do and didn't. It looked like Kitchens' prep for this week was "it worked against the ravens, it'll work again".

Has all the markings of an analytics/moneyball/marketing personnel move verses a FOOTBALL move.

On the nose man. Analytics must have predicted the O line to be better on paper, and the moneyball said they needed to free up cap space to fit in OBJ. I told Gip the other day that I didn't see the Browns WRs having much of an impact in this game for the simple fact that Mayfield wouldn't have the time to get the ball to them. The talent the Browns have on WR only makes a difference against teams with a mediocre or average D and Mayfield has time to stand and find the ones who get open.

I just don't know how the Steelers even stayed with them.

The Steelers have one of the better O lines in the league, the matchup disparity in that category wasn't as significant. O lines seem to be underrated, but it really shows when you're up against a team with a fast and powerful D line. The Steelers also have a healthy secondary. Once the Browns get some CBs back they should be able to bring a little more LB pressure forward to the line to stop the run. Thats what really hurt them tonight. The Steelers also put more pressure on Garoppolo, which the Browns probably would have been able to do had there been more secondary coverage, but that all falls back to the injury problem. The defense looked almost as off-kilter as the offense did, safety's pushing up because of the run, and LBs hanging back afraid of the pass.

Cap it off with a fumble on special teams to end it.

I just can’t believe how quickly things went off the rails. Bad bad look. Kitchens playcalling again is just not consistent. And how are we so bad in the red zone?????!!!!

one of those times was pretty fluky... should have come away with 7. Just bad luck there.

I don't think the play calling was inconsistent, rather, consistently bad. Kitchens wanted to develop the run game to open up the passing game. He should have been calling screens and short crossing routes to back the D off and open up the running game.

the problem starts with mayfield he has looked average at best this season

Its hard to look better than average when you've got no time to throw and you're flushed out of the pocket or, worse, sacked every time you play against a decent defense. This problem starts with the O line.

Where the fuck is our O-line, man? Dorsey is a good GM on the whole, but he really gutted our O-line this off-season with seemingly no plan to fix it.

He wanted to spend the $ to get Mayfield some weapons, at the expense of protection. It's showing here. But I fully expect Dorsey to make some trades to try to mitigate this.

9ers front 4 are winning this. They're dropping the backs into coverage. Mayfield's first read isn't open. His second, if he has time, isn't open.
Need some more screens and shovels to Chubbs.

Well, the positive out of that TD run is that it leaves 1:54 on the clock for the browns to bring it back the other way.
I didn't think the 9ers O would be having this much success

I mean, it hit Callaway right in the numbers, so idk how Baker could've made that a more catchable ball. Callaway should've held on to that shit.

It was a little low and a little behind. But not enough to make that much of a difference for a professional NFL receiver.

This is not a playoff team. We are no better than Miami at this point

This is awful

Games not over yet. They can turn it around.

It hit him. Baker could have put it 12 more inches forward, but that should have been a catch all day.

Good run Chubb

Gotta see more of that to get the 9ers D to back off a bit.

And I guess you are a Pens fan? I am a Wings and Blue Jackets fan. I love Hockey and I think Crosby is 1 of the best ever when healthy.

He doesn't have the sheer size and strength Lemieux had, but he definitely works hard enough to make it almost appear like he does. But, maybe his size has something to do with him staying healthy.

I been here since 2007 and I never start shit. why are you on here? Being a Pisspuke Faggot I would say you are the 1 starting shit you fucking cockroach. Eat a bag of dicks. Bitch. Now how is that for starting something?

You sound about as intelligent as pond scum. Is that where your trailer is parked?

I told you why I was here. In fact I told this entire forum why I was here in the first post I ever made on this forum.

Browns on the board, its a start. Mayfield just needs to settle a bit. Maybe some quick dink and dunk playbook to get him comfortable.

@medicineman said:

At least we can say the Fucking Steelers lost fuck em

Yes, that is true.

Why are you one of the ones who always tries to start shit? Were you one of the kids that was always picked on in school or something?

I'm here to watch the Browns game, and chat, and hope they win.

dodged a bullet on that one. no points off turnover, and decent field position.

wow, this is a breakdown right now...

Well, a huge part of the Browns "WR talent" is just that:   YAC.   Did you see OBJs short catch/long run,  or Landry's short catch/long run?  That is more their strength.  I mean, the Browns have not really thrown a lot of long bomb passes.   A few, not many.    (and to be fair, our OL has not been all that great at protection and giving Baker a lot of time)   And as for our WR talent....It will help if Callaway and Higgins can contribute what they do.  Though it seems that Landry may be out.

That was pretty much my point. Baker doesn't get much time. He will probably get less time in this game.
