Apart from the, I presume, somewhat embarrassing comparison of slavery with foreign workers, this is an issue in many countries.
There is a "pool" internationally of people who cannot find work in their own countries.
Many countries take advantage of this in sectors which are indeed addicted to low-paid foreign workers, thereby taking potential work away from citizens by pricing them out of that type of job.
The excuse from employers, typically in agricultural work, is that citizens are unwilling to do this kind of work.
Why that is though, they never explain, nor do the politicians who support them.
The answer to the latter is that employers take advantage of paying these foreign workers low wages.
While these foreign workers stay in the country temporarily, whichever country it is, and work in order to understandably send money back to their families, by comparison citizens (in the country employing the foreign workers) are priced-out of that job; due to the low wage by which they cannot support their families.
This issue is the equivalent of where employers set up a factory abroad in countries with cheap labor, thus taking jobs away.
End the greed, pay proper wages for these jobs, and employ citizens!
