Crennel acted like the kid practically wasn't even here. Forced to give him a nod only after ownership and fans voiced in and/or as a last resort.

Mangini felt the same pressure upon taking the job, and when Anderson didn't woe anyone in preseason, Mangini felt like getting this ugly thing out of the way early and started Quinn in the opener.

Since then, to say that this kid has been stuck in the corner would assume that he is in the same room. I don't think the kid is even a part of the Cleveland Browns right now ... I know he ain't in the plans.

Kosar's comments this week cemented the thing. It sounds as if Kosar, after only a few days in the building, has already given up on the kid too.

Is this kid that bad? I've never known him to be a poor attitude, but it sure seems that way. Look at his body language on the sideline, he might as well not even be dressed, he sure ain't on his headset listening to the plays and hearing, let alone providing any input. He's on a island ... he's a cast-off.

Clausen isn't going to come out people. Think. It makes no sense for him to come out this year and face a serious competition among 2-3 other players over who is the top QB in the draft; if he produces about the same next year (with nearly all his offense returning) he WILL BE THE UNQUESTIONED #1 QB in the draft. From a developmental point it doesn't really make sense to come out, but more significantly from a pocketbook point it makes zero sense to leave early.

Cleveland isn't going to be bad enough next year to get him.

Why would Clausen come out in 2010? If he keeps his current numbers next year (with just about all of the offense coming back) he WILL go as the highest QB in the 2011 draft. I liked our offense when the year started, but losing Floyd was HUGE... the guy is a STUD and could be an NFL WR THIS YEAR if he came out as a soph (I think he will leave after next year).

Of course, if they lose two more games Charlie might not be back... which throws a wrench in things. A lot of Alum want him out after this year. I really like the offense, it's got the potential to be top 1 or 2 in the nation next year; if the damn D can rise to mediocrity we could make some real noise.

As far as Clausen vs. Quinn, Jimmy has the bigger arm and is the more accurate passer (especially throwing down field). Clausen's mechanics are not textbook, but his release is high and quick, which a lot of NFL scouts like. In my mind there's no question as to who will be the better NFL QB. I don't think the Browns will be bad enough to be in a position to get Clausen in 2011... he'll be exiled to Oakland after the Raiders go 1-15 next year.

In an effort to raise funds for the #1 pick in the draft the Browns will be offering the general public the opportunity to play QB on a "real" NFL team during a "real" game. $150 will buy you an offensive snap, another $50 will guarantee you the OC will call a pass play.

It will be Quinn.

The bottom line is both guys suck for different reasons.....between the two, I take Anderson.

As has been proven, he can get hot and can win a few games. If given the choice between 3-4 wins or 1-2, it is a easy choice.

Quinn is worse than Anderson. Grow up, admit it, and move on.

Quinn is a more contained player, DA would probably of had 5-6 INTs if he had started. If the system starts to work, and the offense starts to grind out some yards, Quinn is BY FAR the better choice for this team. Even as a player with a lot less starts, he makes better decisions about forcing plays than DA.

Dude, this is HUGE and it signifies that Mangini was totally playing everyone. Obviously it wasn't DA or BQ's trade value that they were trying to increase, it was BOTH. With Woods on the roster at QB, Cleveland will win the next 8 superbowls.

I think Ratliff means one of the QB's has been traded. Just pure speculation on my part, but I think a deal has been reached with the Niners.

Dude, nobody but people within the organization know that. Maybe they DO feel DA is the "answer", WTF really knows but the people inside.

The only thing we can clearly see is:

Brady Quinn has higher perceived value because of the structure of his contract, his age, and his draft status. The browns spent two picks including a first to get him, they would need at least a first for him because he's fresh off the shelf.

DA could be traded for a second round pick.

If a solid starter is announced, there's no doubt that the "loser" will ASK for a trade. Your boy has already been hinting that he might not be around, no doubt in prep for a trade demand should he lose out. Nothing has come out of Quinn's mouth in reference to possible being there or not yet.

I'm not so sure either one will be traded this year. The window for decent value on the one that doesn't play this year is quickly closing, if something doesn't happen during the draft, I don't think either one will be traded until next year; by that time whichever sits will not have nearly the value they do now. I still think Anderson is the more likely of the two to go, if one does go, only because the Browns could accept less than a first round pick for him.

ESPN is reporting that Byron Leftwich and the Tampa Bay Bucks have come to terms on a 2 year deal.

One less suitor for a Cleveland QB trade.

I don't think either QB is going to be moved this year, which honestly, isn't a bad thing.

Uhhh... JR will be the starter once the season rolls around, even if Garcia shows more in camp. With that said, it's fairly obvious that Russel isn't putting the work in. I wouldn't be surprised if he's riding the pine by week 3 or 4.

Well, some good news in the QB value dept. The Raiders have taken Garcia off the FA QB market. I assume this helps out the value of any QB the browns might want to move.

Makes me think that all the news about Brady being behind was BS designed to increase the value of Cassel; if there was a significant risk that Brady wouldn't be ready for the new season, there is simple no way the Pats could let Cassel go without acquiring another insurance policy.
