Was that filet of redfish, flounder or cod Larry? A White Zinfandel is the answer, not a Cab.?
BTW that Oberon sounds intriguing. I can get it for around $20 after tax with my Vet's cash discount locally. I'll pick up one today and serve it with a T-bone & baked potato some time this week.
We had breaded flounder the other day, not as good as fresh catch but not too bad.
Back to basics on GAMEDAY, tailgating or similar meals which is best or the most popular? Steaks, burgers, ribs, hotdogs, chicken, chili, pizza, tacos, fish, chips & dip or anything really delicious.
Well I checked around for a few ideas, here's a few I found.

My favorite from this list #11 PHILLY CHEESE STEAK SLIDERS ummm-ummm delicious !
PHILLY CHEESESTEAK SLIDERS
yield: 12 SERVINGS prep time: 20 MINUTES cook time: 20 MINUTES........Total time: 40 MINUTES
Mini Philly Cheesesteak inspired sliders melted cheese and meat perfection!
INGREDIENTS..... you might want to make a larger batch depending on your group size. A little practice helps as you get better doing sliders.
- 12 mini rolls (such as Hawaiian Rolls)
- 9 oz. box frozen thinly sliced steak (such as Steak Umms)
- 1/2 teaspoon Worcestershire sauce
- 1/2 teaspoon soy sauce
- 1 green bell pepper, diced
- 1/2 an onion, diced
- 5 mushrooms, diced
- 6 slices provolone cheese
- 3 tablespoons butter, melted
- 1/2 teaspoon garlic powder
- 1/2 teaspoon dried parsley flakes
DIRECTIONS..... and my notes.
Preheat oven to 350 degrees. Cut rolls down the middle horizontally, and place bottom portion into a greased casserole dish. (Note: I think it's easier to just keep all the rolls attached and cut through the middle.)
In a skillet on the stove, saute steak with soy sauce and Worcestershire sauce until no longer pink. Set aside.
Saute onions, bell pepper, and mushroom until soft.
Layer rolls first with steak, then veggies, and finally the sliced provolone. Place the other half of rolls on top.
Cover dish with foil and bake for 10 minutes. Mix together melted butter with garlic powder and dried parsley. After the first 10 minutes of bake time, butter the tops of rolls and place back in the oven, without foil, for another 10 minutes.
★ Don’t skip the buttery glaze!
Well you can, but the glaze throws it over the top GOOD! I love the kind of garlic bread crusted top the butter gives these sandwiches. You won’t regret this small extra step!

Didn't realize Jersey Mike's is that big of an outfit MJP.... Can't say I've ever had one, as we have a couple great local places, Milano's and The Sub House here. I like subs, but skip the bell peppers.
My contribution to the Souper Chili bowl is going to be some shredded barbecue beef. As you realize- all you need is a crock pot, prep time 5 minutes, tossing a three pound chuck roast in with assorted ingredients, set on low and forget about it for 8 hours.
Wife wants me to make a (small) batch of our stuffed mushrooms- that's a little more involved. Sautéing the destemmed 'shrooms in butter and crushed garlic, with a little white pepper and added brandy... Then stuffing them with cream cheese with chives, top with bacon and Italian blend cheese, bake until cheese is melted.
There will be much wailing and gnashing of teeth among the sizable Bengals contingent at our Super Bowl Party if they manage to lose. But they can drink heavily if that's the case.. this was from a previous Super Bowl extravaganza... MHO is it's the Bengals shaky o-line against Aaron Donald and the Rams D.

You know I like Philly Steaks and steak sandwiches in general, here's a GAMEDAY or any day variation......the zucchini are starting to roll in now.
Cheesesteak Zucchini Boats
YIELDS:8 SERVINGS PREP TIME:0 HOURS 5 MINS TOTAL TIME:0 HOURS 30 MINSINGREDIENTS4 zucchini, halved lengthwise1/4 c. extra-virgin olive oil, dividedKosher saltFreshly ground black pepper1 large onion, chopped2 bell peppers, thinly sliced2 cloves garlic, minced1 lb. sirloin steak, thinly sliced <---- OPTION: Can use your favorite steak here if desired.1 tsp. dried oregano2 c. shredded provolone2 tbsp. freshly chopped parsley, for garnishDIRECTIONS- Preheat oven to 350°. Brush with about 1 tablespoon olive oil and season with salt and pepper. Bake until just tender, about 15 minutes.
- Meanwhile, in a large skillet over medium heat, heat 1 tablespoon olive oil. Add onion, peppers, and scooped out zucchini then season with salt and pepper. Cook, stirring often, until vegetables are tender, about 5 minutes. Remove from heat.
- Increase heat to medium-high and add remaining tablespoon of olive oil. Add steak in a single layer, working in batches if necessary, and season with oregano, salt and pepper. Cook until seared all over, about 2 minutes per side. Remove from heat.
- Fill zucchini boats with cooked vegetables and steak, then top with provolone. Bake until cheese is melted and bubbly, about 10 minutes. Garnish with parsley.

Sorry Tex, I'm not into "Impossible Whoppers".
This past summer some of the wife's hard core vegan relatives were trying to foist barbecued coleslaw off as pulled pork on me. I just smh at the wonders of grilled watermelon.

Well SB 56 is history -BUT- grilling season is always right around the corner.
When I get hungry for a really good baked potato ? what's better than a DOUBLE STUFFED POTATO, ummm-ummm. A steak hot off the grill and let your oven do the rest.SERVES. 6. COOK TIME. 1 HOUR. 25. We fill 'em up with some extra goodies for a side dish that is company-fancy, everyday easy, and taste-buds approved!
What You'll Need
- 6 russet potatoes
- 1/4 cup sour cream
- 3 tablespoons butter
- 1/4 teaspoon onion powder
- 1/2 teaspoon salt

-
Preheat oven to 400 degrees F. Scrub potatoes, then pierce each several times with a fork.
