I get the gist that republicans are trying to be the “pro-family” party, and l’m all for it. Fostering a community that cares about each other starts with family. It’s how we learn that the well being of the people around us directly affects our own quality of life.
Their methodology at accomplishing this, at least in this instance, is a little bizarre.
This is the far right religious extremist portion of their party having too much influence. No sane person should be anti IVF. But the Bible humpers need to be made at something, I guess.

Yeah the hard right Catholics take a dim view of IVF, but I'd bet that they're in a very small minority. I won't get into their rationale here. (Short answer if it's something outside of sex- it's morally wrong)
