  • Kept hearing rumors from Training Camp that this "new offense" looked really unremarkable.

Having your Tackle situation being what it is doesn't help, but....

    Yep, I'm out.

    Probably a smart move jiggins...

    Completely overmatched.

Hey   Jiggs,   what's new with you pal.  In JAX,  FLA.

    ....  edit add .....    besides   DAL (+2.5)  20   CLE 3 ... GEEEZZZ.

I'm not sure completely refusing to block Micah Parsons is a sound idea.

I mean, THERE WAS NO ONE WITHIN FIVE YARDS OF HIM. ?

When they send a zero pressure, you tend to unblock the edge.  The interior is the quickest way to the QB, meaning the extra rusher has to be accounted for and handled by the QB.   It was, it's just Micah made an incredibly amazing play.

But when the play call seemed to be going right over his spot, shouldn't a tackle/tight end/RB at least chip him so he's not right in the way?

Throwing hot.  The adjust is on the receiver and QB post snap. They read the DB inside, throw outside away from his leverage and beat pressure by throwing out of it.

That route might have been something completely different pre-snap until Dallas showed that pressure.

Hey, somebody was eatin' Doritos so whadaya want?

  • That play was designed to let parsons be unblocked. Let that one sink in, wild.

meanwhile Mayfield is dominating another game in Tampa. Call me an old fool, the browns sold their soul and karma and this is the penance.

Nothing to sink in, I've explained perfectly well why and it's common in football.

Almost like a trap play but with zero reason Parsons would run himself out of the play?

I'd be curious to why Jones was crashing inside on such a fast developing play?

  • If he makes this...

  • He did.

What the hell, go for the 71 yarder! ?

I think most people logically get that , but not when the guy you’re leaving unblocked will be the hugest paid defensive end next year. To not assume parsons to make a play there is just very wonky to me.

  • Was that a 66 yard  FG ?   OMG.    NOW 71 .....  whos the PR ?

If there's ever a play that we'd all probably like to see broke down @tiamat63, this might be the one!

  • I wonder if i can get my money back from Sunday ticket 😉

You're assuming the Browns will know exactly where he's going to line up pre-snap?  Dude has played multiple times on the left, right and over the center this game alone.

If he's played 6 snaps on the left, so I set some kind of quick hitting combo to the right, then he ends up moving to the right side... Well ... I have one hell of a problem checking to a completely new play and formation on third down in less than 17 seconds.

    Buyer beware? ?

  • Just keep everyone healthy at this point.  We clearly aren’t ready for week 1

Yep. This new school way of managing starters in pre-season makes zero sense to me. This team looks like it's their first outing in, you guessed it, pre-season. Pretty pathetic.

  • Time to mow the yard ?   Hey,  maybe one of those  FAN-TASTIC FINISH GAMES ?

  • What a lousy fucking game.  Watson looks like shit, as does the whole team.  Not again.  Please.

  • THIS is expansion  bad, I mean fuck

So the play they ran has only 1 option? Doesn’t seem like a good plan
