Dream A Little Dream With Me

I'm putting this out into the universe. With another possible sexual assault case against Watson, there's a chance he could get suspended. If he does, there's a chance the Browns could void the rest of his contract, thus removing us from this albatross. I have zero idea how much of a chance any of this happens, but goddamit, I'm going to dream that the Browns will be able to move on and draft their franchise QB this coming April. I'm going to start by throwing up five quarterbacks that could/should be first rounders, with short scouting reports pulled from various sites and an accompanying highlight video to watch if you are interested. If there's someone you think I missed, tell me who and I'll do one for them.Β

Carson Beck 6'4, 220lbs, Georgia
Has prototypical size and arm strength, with a quick/compact release and he operates with a very firm/strong base. He can power the ball into tight windows. Can run when free yards are there to be picked up,Β but prefers to work through progressions in the pocket. Accuracy suffers when moved off his spot. (NFL.com)
-
Shedeur Sanders 6'2, 215lbs, Colorado
Accurate passer with the quick release to pick defenses apart with short to intermediate passes. He throws to open receivers and leads them to yards after the catch. Sanders spins the ball well and showed better timing and touch on his downfield throws last season. (ESPN)
-
Quinn Ewers, 6'2, 210lbs, Texas
Has very quick feet and can move around the pocket well to avoid the pass rush. Quick release and the ball really pops out of his hand with minimal effort. Generates plenty of velocity to fit balls into tight windows. Footwork needs work, sometimes accuracy suffers due to this. Average size. (NFL.com)
-
Cam Ward 6'2, 223lbs, University of Miami
Ward is undeniably talented, making some of the hardest throws look effortless. He's a danger as a passer from any platform, inside or outside structure, and can makes throws from almost any angle, like Pat Mahomes. At the same time, Ward's non-traditional playmaking style comes at the cost of traditional pocket operation. (Pro Football Network)
-
Jaxson Dart 6'2, 220lbs, Ole Miss
Strong arm with velocity, also displays athleticism and the ability to throw on the run. Able to work through progressions in the pocket. Needs to work on his deep ball accuracy. Overall, Dart's intrigue as a prospect is because of his combination of natural physical tools, athleticism and arm talent, but he has to improve his effectiveness in throwing the football in high-level moments against top competition. (Pro Football Network)

How are their criminal records? I'll take any of the above if I don't have to feel like a piece of garbage for supporting them.

Personally I wouldn't touch Deion Sanders' kid with a ten foot pole.
As crazy as this sounds, he could be a bigger diva than his dad.
Edit: For some reason I'm having a problem posting any highlight videos of his. I have zero interest in the Browns drafting him, in fact, I think he and his dad are going to pull some Eli Manning shenanigans to try and maneuver his way on to a preferred team. The Browns I imagine wouldn't be that team. If anyone wants to watch his highlights, go to YouTube.Β

No thanks. He comes in with plenty of outside baggage like Todd Marinovich, OBJ, hell even Eli Manning.
Deion, for all his good, can bring unnecessary attention to a team that has never proven to handle outside noise very well.

And what do all five have in common? All are operating from the shotgun in a RPO offense.

BTW Dutch, thanks for taking the time to put this together!Β
Well done! ?

I'll be adding a few more tonight, and then if anyone kind of jumps up during the season.Β

Drew Allar 6'4, 220lbs, Penn State
Tall with thick build and a little bit of athleticism to move around in the pocket. The former five star Medina, Ohio high school star operates well in the pocket, showing the ability to move around the pocket while keeping his eyes downfield. Possesses strong arm that is generally accurate. Needs to improve field vision and working through progressions. (Walter Football)

Had some trouble with Bowling Green last weekend. 13 of 20Β 2 TDs 1 Int and 7 yds rushing for another TD.

He's still a work in progress, for sure.

Deion needs to teach his kid the difference between confidence and stupidity.
Ice up son! ?
