    LOL me to

  • Jalen Milroe 6'2, 220lbs, Alabama

Redshirt Junior is a very good athlete with a strong but unrefined arm. Solidly built, he's an incredibly tough and solidly built competitor who is willing to sell out for crucial gains. (This can be a positive AND a negative in the NFL, as we have seen with recent Browns QBs) Can make throws from various arm angles, but still a work in progress in passing game. His mechanics, field vision and anticipation all are valid questions at this point. (Pro Football Network)

  • Garrett Nussmeier 6'2, 200lbs, LSU

Here's a real dark horse QB prospect for the Browns as of today, but by the beginning of next year could rocket up draft boards. Redshirt Junior with a live arm, good pocket footwork and a repeatable throwing motion. Backed up first round pick Jayden Daniels for last two seasons, playing sparingly in relief. Made his first LSU start vs Wisconsin in the Tiger's bowl game last season, throwing for 395 yards and 3 touchdowns vs 1 interception in a comeback victory, as Daniels opted to not play. Operates well from the pocket and does most of his work there. Lack of experience is an obvious weakness as of today, but by the end of the season could be a name we hear a lot of if he declares for the draft.

  • Thanks for accumulating this list @dutch-oven. I follow teams more than players and the portal has made that a bit of a nightmare as I recognize the names you've posted, just couldn't necessarily generate them on my own.

The sooner the Browns start looking for a QB, the less pressure will be on them to find a QB. I am not educated enough to say, of the QBs you've listed, who will or will not be good NFL QBs, my concern lies in what comes up in nearly every QB topic on this board: does the QB's skills fit Stefanski's offense?

I'm not ready to start over with another rookie QB-new HC combo.

But I am a strong proponent of the Browns beginning the search for their next QB1.

  • So what's the issue with baby Sanders anyway? I think he definitely has the NFL arm talent.

Yeah, we weren't used to seeing that from him.

I have not watched both games so I would love to be corrected. Amari Cooper looks disenfranchised. I have seen the plays in the last two games where the football has hit him in the hands and he didn't make the catch. I also noticed in the highlights that it seems like he's not sprinting on his routes.

Maybe it's me. I hope I'm wrong. Maybe it's Deshaun Watson, but (2 games in) he doesn't look like the Amari Cooper I'm used to seeing.

Some of these young guys come from great programs surrounded with great talent dating back as far as high school. For example, Bryce Young started at Cathedral High School before a power house program at Mater Dei High School recruited him away. Then he went to Alabama so he could be drafted 1st overall by the Carolina Panthers and...

Jimmy is not going to be one that admits he made a mistake here; so unless divine intervention plays lifeguard here - I'm gonna hold off on wasting time all the QB draft prospects stuff.  I'm 60 years old so I've done all that countless times. Keep in mind, this entire organization is still trying to find the right playbook for Watson was we speak in year #3. The easiest question to ask before making a decision on a QB is WHY do you want him?  What makes him your gotta have?  Then you put the things in place that enables all that.

I'm sensing some disappointment from him toward the front office in terms of the FO only thinking "you're this age and sorry pal this is the best we in this league do for vets in your situation. We know it stinks..."  Okay, this is a 2 way street. What from that would stop Amari from thinking why should I put it on the line in traffic if they're right and nobody wants a guy next year that gets injured willing to catch the ball in traffic this year for a team I only have 3-4 months left with? Almost makes me wonder what's in store from a guy that has otherwise been pretty much the ultimate professional here before 2024.  Am I off-base here?  I could be.  We'll see...

I think we would have to track Cooper on every pass play to see if he has been getting open, but DW just does not throw it there with a few exceptions. Just maybe he gets tired of being open and left to have the ball thrown elsewhere or just not thrown at all. If I were a receiver of his caliber, I'd be plenty discouraged if that were the case. Let's see if that is or is not the case or if in meetings AC gets listened to by staff & DW to set things on a better path for all concerned. I'd certainly be voicing it to the Receivers coach and QB coach as well as DW in person.

Maybe a lot of all that Aggies.

I went and got some of Cooper's stats from a pretty good year with us in 2023. These are 5 of the 6 games that Watson started (these are the ones he finished too):

    9/10 Cin         7 targets 3 receptions 37 yards 0 TD

    9/18 Pitt        10 targets 7 receptions 90 yards 0 TD

    9/24 Tenn      8 targets 7 receptions 116 yards 1 TD

    11/5  Ariz        5 targets 5 receptions 139 yards 1 TD

    11/12 Balt        9 targets 6 receptions  98 yards 0 TD

As you can see - another slow start in the opener but the Browns won 24-3 vrs Cincy.  But, nothing really spectacular.

    100% agree.

The "It's a Business" mentality has been accelerated by the increasing salary cap and the skyrocketing testicular gymnastics taking place to move money to signing bonuses, roster bonuses, deferred commitments and annuities.

The Mets and Bobby Bonilla were true pioneers.

  • Cam Ward 6'2, 223lbs, University of Miami

Ward is undeniably talented, making some of the hardest throws look effortless. He's a danger as a passer from any platform, inside or outside structure, and can makes throws from almost any angle, like Pat Mahomes. At the same time, Ward's non-traditional playmaking style comes at the cost of traditional pocket operation. (Pro Football Network)

Cam Ward has started off very well with the U, leading them to a 4-0 record and a #7 overall ranking. They play tonight on ESPN vs Virginia Tech, if you want to check him out.

  • Kiper's first Big Board just dropped.

Helluva good college football day today, ending with (2) Georgia vs (4) Alabama, unfortunately at the same time (7:30 EST) as the Buckeyes kickoff.
