Tale of the Tape - Browns vs Giants

The Browns Board

This is the matchup that was shown on TV in a little town in Rhode Island, all those years ago, that made me a Browns fan.  Me, Moses and Keith Richards watched Jim Brown pile up yardage.

Obviously the numbers here depict a Dead Heat.  With the one exception being that the Giants appear to be quite susceptible to the run.  We are now ranked in the bottom third of the league at running the ball...and deservedly so.  We might get Conklin back this week...but will we wind up tossing him in at LT?  Perhaps he'd be better than the guy that we signed to the PS and then signed to the active roster a day or two later to start at LT.

This is the second leg of a possible four game win streak.  I'm hoping that our OL can take control of the 28th ranked run defense and get our RBs some room to run.  And penalties...we've gotta stop screwing up all the time.

I LOVE hearing stories about how people became Browns fans.

I think it's awesome that with the NY/Boston media markets you become a Browns fan!

I came with JFF and stayed despite taking more shit than you can imagine. But I got let off the hook because I promised when Myles was just a soph at A&M he would be one great player if the Browns could find a way to get him. Thank you Myles for being the player I knew you were from day one. I got to stay and enjoy a lot of fun with this board of dedicated fans. And this year I get to go to see the Browns play with my other favorite in Denver thanks to my nephew with season Broncos tickets. Look for the fool wearing Browns "95" jersey in enemy territory.?

A little upset with Browns fans giving up on and not supporting Deshaun Watson. He is your brother, you have his back in bad times and good.

umm...we've been here since the beginning so we have a little more history with him than you.  We've been hearing him answer questions for a long time.  I find him to be kind of a self centered jerky type.  His off the field issues seem to tie in well with that persona.  So don't be letting on that we have to like him to root for him to win us games.  He came to us because we offered the guaranteed money.

Never said you have to be in love with him to support him. What I hear from Browns fans though is that he is a horrible person and they couldn't care less if he fails in life. "He has no redeemable qualities." A bit much in my opinion. You don't know him personally. I don't know him personally either, but I touched on some reasons, in another thread, why I think he is not performing well on and off the grass. I hope he finds the help he needs. He may also need to have a change of scenery in the NFL. I think somehow getting out of Cleveland would be a positive for him. I wish him well.

No, no, no.  WE were the change of scenery that he supposedly needed.  Now he needs a change of scenery from the change of scenery?

Back when me, Moses and Keith Richards were watching Jim Brown the Patriots were in some other league.  Most people's favorite NFL team in New England was the Giants.  They were the 'local' NFL team so they were on TV a lot...along with the Eagles, Colts, Redskins and Browns.

--  This is one of my Must Win games.  You've GOT to beat the teams that you're supposed to beat......if your goal is to qualify for the playoffs.

I'm glad you stayed! I'm shocked you stayed given the let down that turned out to be.

The first half of Myles career has been significant. I want this team to win now so he can continue leading the locker room.

Was on my list too. On the "NFL's Hardest Schedule" this looked liked one of the few gimmes.

Browns Injury Report: Yet another offensive tackle is hurt

That's not good.  It's the same knee that kept him out last year, correct?   Hopefully Conklin & Wiils can play this week...but they'll probably be some rust.

  • Where can you watch on the local tvs?

    https://506sports.com/nfl.php?yr=2024&wk=3

Looks like most of Ohio is good, except for my forsaken homies in Van Wert county. You border areas in PA, WV and KY are good too.

Most of NY is good as well, except for you Buffalopian tubes. Let’s hear it for CT and VT. Vermont is the setting for half of all Christmas movies on the Hallmark channel, so we’ll consider this an early Christmas gift for you.

And somehow the shitty parts and the good parts of New Jersey get the Browns. That would be Newark and Red Bank, respectively.

    Eddie Wilson lives!

last week they didn't say shit, next thing he was back in the line up

  • All Ddub has to do is be a game manager and the Browns should win this without too much struggle... But we have also watched this team play to the lowest level possible at times... But I like our chances

    Browns 21

Next 3, Giants, Raiders, and Washington are all must wins for the Browns, if the playoffs are in their future. Gotta have the ones you should win.

Where is it rated the "NFL's Hardest Schedule"? Someone here??

  • I'll be interested how Amari Cooper plays Sunday.

I wouldn't be shocked if Berry trades him by the trade deadline, especially if he can get a WR in another trade. (Or for Cooper).

So you're thinking Jeudy, Moore & Tillman.  And then hoping that Thrash can bring the preseason into the regular season.   I'm assuming...

I remember hearing or reading that he felt appreciated Joe Flacco's style over Watsons.

    ***Spoiler: Most probably do***

I say get as much as possible for him and fill in some gaps where needed. At this point, he's gone after this season anyways.

If Jeudy keeps looking good and plays well with Watson, and Tillman keeps progressing, yes.

Or if Berry can find someone looking to dump a WR with salary, like how he got Cooper in the first place, then definitely yes.
