Watsons problems are in his head.

All the massage stuff has him messed up.

Add he  really doesn't/didn't want to play here and add in most of the fans hate his ass, his self-esteem/confidence is shot.

The staff didn't do anything to turn the guy in to a turnip at QB.

THIS is why I didn't want the Browns to trade for him. I didn't want the public relations nightmare, and I've always had it in the back of my mind that for him to succeed after dealing with such an absolute stain on his reputation that he'd have to be a sociopath. Someone who could have the world calling him a complete degenerate and basically stick up a couple middle fingers and scream "Fuck the World".

Watson may be a lot of things, may very well be capable of being a complete shithead when it comes to trying to pull sexual shenanigans on women, but he's obviously not someone who can shrug off the venom from people when it becomes public knowledge. Some rare people can do this. They can be the biggest piece of garbage and hold their head up high, proudly, while rubbing their strangely small hands together.

That isn't Watson. Add the fact that now he's suffered two major injuries, he's probably as good as done as a viable NFL player. Karma has been served.

And Monday Night I was reminded once again why the Browns sold their souls in the first place as the Baker Mayfield lead Tampa Bay Buccaneers went up against his old nemesis Lamar Jackson and the Baltimore Ravens and got their asses handed to them. Oh sure, in garbage time Baker padded his stats and made the game appear closer than it really was, but once again, an AFC North team easily handled him and his good, but not that good team.

Mayfield put up 31 points against maybe the best defense in the league. Mayfield doesn't play defense. If you're comparing Mayfield to Watson...don't bother. It's a comparison you can't win. It was time for Mayfield to leave here. He was crucified by the media and fans, for playing hurt, his confidence was gone. I the organization had shown half the loyalty to him as they do with Watson, the Browns would be competitive. You brought up Lamar Jackson. Do you remember how crappy he played at times since 2018? The Baltimore fans wanted his ass gone before his new contract. The difference is Harbaugh. Harbaugh built an offense tailored for Jackson to succeed, and even with that, it was sketchy. You can hate Mayfield all you want, but he will most likely play in a Superbowl before we ever get there.

Ah, no. He will never see a SB. The Browns have more time on their side (infinity) compared to BM.

Mayfield today is infinitely better than Watson. He also benefits from the Charmin soft Tampa Bay schedule. When faced against an AFC North rival, he’s throwing crucial interceptions and finding himself behind by three plus touchdowns entering the fourth quarter.

He throws interceptions...so did Flacco. He can throw a lot of td's too. Name one qb we've had since '99 who was better.

Yes...the Browns have a lot of time...60 years and counting...

The former #1 overall pick is the best QB of the worst generation of Browns football. That’s a pretty amazingly low bar you’ve set.

  • Stated a fact. He was the best we've had here since '99...but yeah..let's trade a million draft picks and pay $230 million for a washed up, sexual predator, who couldn't hit the ocean with a football if he was standing in it. That sounds like a good idea....

And that is a good point, which is why I didn’t want Watson either. I know this is crazy talk, but every subject on here doesn’t have to be “Well you don’t like this, so that must mean you love that!” Sometimes, you can dislike or like both sides.

    ?

  • I was ambivalent on the Watson trade. Wasn't mad to see Baker go as he hadn't shown enough to make a heavy investment in him. On paper Watson was definitely an upgrade at the time plus at the time precedent was 6 game suspension for sexual infractions but the Browns office forgot they're not the darling of the NFL Steelers where Roethlisberger can get away with proven rape with a slap on the wrist. Everything went south from there, Watson then went out with two successive season ending injuries and his mind is shot, just like Tiger Woods never attained greatness after his revelations. Now we have to be the butt of more jokes of the worst NFL trade ever as if the QB jersey wasn't enough.

On another note, very strange that the Texans  organization whose facility where all this happened has never faced any legal consequences.
