3 weeks now with horrible play calling... and Players looking like crap.

What ticked me off the most was the fact that when they did Bring DA into the game... RUNNING PLAYS... Here is a guy known for his arm and what do they do... The same BS. COME ON.

Fire the entire coaching staff... NOW!!!

3 Weeks of the exact same play calling, same results, same crap. I'm tired of it. And it's not even the QB issue now. Rizzo and Bernie were talking this morning that right now, this has nothing to do with the QB and who starts. The team is a mess and I think they know that it's Mangini and the coaching staff...

Let's call it like it is: Our coach is an asshole and neither of our quarterbacks is or will be top 25 at his position. We don't have a great running back. Our defense still sucks ass.

Just read that the Browns definitely have Chin's number on speed dial. This is such an ugly meltdown, I don't think Mangini survives it. Remember when we could say, "At least we didn't get Josh McDaniels." Now he's 3-0 with Kyle Freaking Orton.

We need to start over yet again with a new coach and a new quarterback and a whole lot of other pieces. It needs to be BIG... like the Chin.

If the chin comes here im officially retiring my browns fandom in favor of playing fantasy football and never rooting for a specific team again.

Why?! I was a huge Chin fan when he was the ST coordinator for the Browns under Schottenheimer.

  • WOW! Harsh doesn't even touch that one. Give it some time. Hopefully there is some progress throughout the season (It can't get any worse as we are already last in the power rankings). If not, it's time to revert to the Browns fan motto: "there's always next year". Shanahan, Chuckie, and Cowher are all sitting the pine this year waiting for a shot.

What commends the Chin? That he lost a whole lot of meaningful games to the Patriots where he was plain out out-managed. The team just won a SB without him. In fact, the transition has been seamless if they haven't gotten a boost. Did Chin have say over who the team drafted? Honestly, I like the team that Mangini left in New York a whole lot.

What was Belicheck his first year at NE? 5-11 I think. Lost their first 4. They had Bledsoe and some other real NFL players too. Mangini took over this crap roster with a lack of draft picks this year and little room under the cap to really get what this team needs. Hell, they are three solid drafts and a lot of sound FA moves to get to a point of a competitive roster.

We saw McDonald and Wright make these same "rookie mistakes" last year. We saw DQ get swallowed up any time they ran the ball right at him. We saw Wimbley pull his disappearing act and Pool whiff on open field tackle after open field tackle -- and these are the BETTER players Mangini inherited. Had they quit on Romeo? No. They just aren't very good.

And WTF is this about players "quitting" anyway? How many of these guys will even get a chance with another NFL team if they quit here? Who on the roster other than Rogers/Thomas/Cribbs is not a dime a dozen?

  • I think Mangini must have spit in this guys soup at some point in the past.. Wow.. Why don't you tell us how you really feel about Mangini... I can feel the venom running into my fingers from this guys article..WOW.

  • really because Cleveland so loved Belicheck when he was our coach....... he was such a likeable fellow.... this writer is a idiot.

Things normally get worse before they get better.

Its his first year and this is really not his people yet, I could see if this was his third year...

Keep in mind that the Baltimore press knew Mangini from the Browns' move to Baltimore. He worked under the first coach. So they've seen their share of Mangini.

Who would take over? No one would even want to coach this team except one of the current assistants.

So pull the trigger anyways. See if you got someone in house who can fix this. You don't know what you got until you use it. Just give someone else a shot (who the players actually want to win for) and see if you can build on that. If one of the assistants can't win, then no big deal. This season is a wash, but I think getting rid of Mangini now could certainly get the players fired up and perhaps into the endzone once before the season ends.

  • I do think there's some middle ground here.... Damajuki

    *************************************************

Actually, this is a brilliant take.

Tearing the group down, then weeding out the ones who don't care, don't want to be part of the team,

and replacing them, building the entire team as a great group of unselfish FOOT

    BALL PLAYERS !

Kinda reminds me of going to through basic training for some reason... @@

But why play the ones who don't care now?

Sorry, but one glaring example to me, is Braylon. He seemed to sandbag on Quinn, then seemed to get

excited and full speed with DA. Maybe because he gets to show off when the "all he can do is throw long well" qb

gets him the ball a lot? To make more $$$ when he leaves as a free agent ?

Braylon has already whined about the fans not liking him because he went to Michigan....

I really, really, really would have traded his butt out of town before last year's draft.

Ya know, I went to the grocery store, and they had a life size stand up cutout poster, of Robieski in Browns gear.

Now, he doesn't even get to play, because of Edwards?

And McDonald, is he so dim, that he STILL hasn't learned to look back at the ball just before it gets there?

He has never learned that when the wr breaks off his route and curls in, that he is supposed to be ready to do the same?

Is there any kind of reason why the Browns' defense just stands behind most all receivers, and simply let them catch

    the ball most every time?

    I don't know. I just don't know.

    Sol,

While I appreciate your frustration and your insight... I don't think you want to align yourself with Gregg Doyel. I mean, if you said it and he said it that's fine. But I'm pretty sure that you saying it lends more credence to his argument that his saying it does to yours.

Doyel is a world class douchebag... a douchebag's douchebag if you will.

These sorts of asinine rants are what he does. And it's nothing to be proud of. Gregg Doyel is a wart on sports journalism. The fact that he gets to put the same job title on his business card as Peter Gammons or Bob Ryan is a freakin' sham.

In his dampest of wet dreams Gregg Doyel is Jim Rome. But he's never been able to pull off JR's smarmy cool. So instead he ends up sounding like one of Rome's under-evolved callers. Just what the world needs a clone with a WordPress account.
