    2. Bengals 2024 record?

    Bob806: 7-10
    DBone: 8-9
    SDBacker80: 9-8
    Flugel: 11-6
    AP1: 9-8
    syd: 9-8
    Ibleedbrown: 5-12
    DutchOven: 11-6
    mjp28: 10-7

Answer: The Cincinnati Bengals started poorly in 2024, but rallied late to pull out a 9-8 record.

Winner Winner Chicken Dinner: Is it me or does it seem like the Queen City Kitties always start slow in the Joe Burrow Era? They did it again this season, starting 1-4 and putting themselves smack dab behind the old proverbial eight ball. It proved to be too big of a hole to dig themselves out of, and despite winning their last five games they failed to make it to the playoffs. Their defense was a sieve, allowing only one point less than the Browns. SDBacker, AP1 and syd all share this tasty prize. (In my mind these dinners are Barberton chicken dinners. If you know, you know.)

And the 'Big Dummy Award' goes to... I always hate to give this dubious award to someone who was so darn optimistic! as Ibleedbrown was my predicting a 5-12 record for his girlfriend's Bengals! ?

    3. Ravens 2024 record?

    Bob806: 11-5-1
    DBone: 12-5
    SDBacker80: 11-6
    Flugel: 12-5
    AP1: 13-4
    syd: 10-7
    Ibleedbrown: 12-5
    DutchOven: 12-5
    mjp28: 11-6

Answer: The Baltimore Ravens went 12-5 during the 2024 season, winning the AFC North in the process. They defeated the Steelers 28-14 in their Wild Card round game, but came up short to Buffalo, 27-25, ending their season short of a Super Bowl again.

Winner Winner Chicken Dinner: The Ravens just keep rolling on, once again winning 10+ games for the sixth time out of seven seasons since Lamar Jackson was drafted. Once again though, they failed to make it to the Super Bowl (a common lament of good AFC teams since Patrick Mahomes joined the Chiefs). We all knew this was going to be another really good Ravens team - all of us predicted a 10 or better win season for them - but DBone, Flugel, Ibleedbrown and yours truly DutchOven nailed the 12-5 record.

And the 'Big Dummy Award' goes to... Honestly, we all had solid predictions, so no ball-bustin' from me on this one. Good job, gents.

    4. Steelers 2024 record?

    Bob806: 11-6
    DBone: 11-6
    SDBacker80: 7-10
    Flugel: 10-7
    AP1: 7-10
    syd: 7-10
    Ibleedbrown: 6-11
    DutchOven: 8-9
    mjp28: 9-8

Answer: The Pittsburgh Steelers went 10-7 during the 2024 season, losing in the Wild Card round to the Baltimore Ravens.

Winner Winner Chicken Dinner: We were kind of split on this, with four of us predicting a winning season for the black and piss yellow, five predicting a losing campaign. They were flying high through the first three months, battling Baltimore for the AFC North crown at 10-3, before crashing down to earth with four consecutive losses to end the regular season, then a first round loss in the playoffs to seal the deal. I've thought for years that the Steelers long, impressive run would crash down only if they struggled to find a franchise QB after Roethlisberger retired, and while they still have decent regular season records I suppose, the last time they won a playoff game President Obama was still in office. Flugel enjoys the sweet taste of success.

And the 'Big Dummy Award' goes to... Dammit Ibleedbrown, I absolutely love your optimism! You are going places my friend!

    5. How many points do the Browns score in 2024? How many do they allow?

    Bob806: 422, 343
    DBone: 366, 391
    SDBacker80: 384, 371
    Flugel: 419, 355
    AP1: 420, 360
    syd: 442, 320
    Ibleedbrown: 289, 312
    DutchOven: 375, 375
    mjp28: 445, 332

Answer: The Browns scored 258 points in 2024 (15.2 per game) and allowed 435 points (25.6).

Winner Winner Chicken Dinner: Ouch. Allowing on average 10 more points per game than you score is how you end up 3-14. I still contend that the Browns defense wasn't as bad as it showed, when the offense actually showed life the defense had moments that reminded you of the good defense we saw for about half of 2023. But the Browns offense ranked last in the NFL in points scored, and only slightly better on points allowed (27th). Honestly, no one deserves a tasty dinner on this one.

And the 'Big Dummy Award' goes to... On the other hand, virtually all of us could deserve this one. mjp28 edges out syd by one point to "win" this dubious honor.

    6. How many yards, touchdowns and interceptions does Watson throw for in 2024?

    Bob806: 3717, 31, 14
    DBone: 1554, 7, 10
    SDBacker80: 2897, 16, 10
    Flugel: 3475, 22, 12
    AP1: 2500, 20, 10
    syd: 3952, 22, 6
    Ibleedbrown: 2984, 24, 18
    DutchOven: 2500, 14, 9
    mjp28: 4009, 39, 13

Answer: Coming back from throwing shoulder surgery - an injury that ended his 2023 season prematurely - Watson looked tentative in the new offense rebuilt for him in the seven starts he made before suffering another season ending injury, this time an Achilles tendon tear. He threw for 1148 yards and 5 touchdowns vs 3 interceptions, for a 79.o QB rating.

Winner Winner Chicken Dinner: Welp, the Deshaun Watson Browns Era is pretty much over now. Mentally, the off-the-field nonsense the Browns gleefully signed up for has shot his confidence, and physically he's now a shell of his former arguably Top 5 QB self of 2018-20. It is apparent the Browns are moving on, and with him reinjuring his Achilles recently, he probably couldn't see the field this season even if he wanted to. I guess DBone would be the closest for the win.

And the Big Dummy Award goes to... Watson's last three starts of 2023, before his season ended with a broken shoulder, were actually pretty good... I'm guessing that was why mjp28 was so optimistic for him going into this season.

    7. How many games are started at QB by people not named Deshaun Watson in 2024?

    Bob806: 2
    DBone: 10
    SDBacker80: 4
    Flugel: 2
    AP1: 10
    syd: 2
    Ibleedbrown: 3
    DutchOven: 7
    mjp28: 3

Answer: Watson - coming off a throwing shoulder injury that ended his season in 2023 prematurely - was only able to make 7 starts in 2024 before suffering a season-ending Achilles tear. In the 10 other games, Jameis Winston started 7, Dorian Thompson-Robinson 2 and Bailey Zappe 1.

Winner Winner Chicken Dinner: While no one thought he was going to go all Iron Horse and start all the games, a few of us had doubts he'd play most of them. DBone and AP1 nailed this one.

And the 'Big Dummy Award' goes to... Bob806, Flugel and syd all ended up being wildly optimistic in what will end up being Watson's last season as the Browns starting QB. He reinjured his Achilles this off-season, resulting in another surgery, pretty much guaranteeing he won't sniff the field in 2025.

    8. Who leads the Browns in rushing in 2024? How many yards?

    Bob806: Ford, 1067
    DBone: Ford, 1005
    SDBacker80: Ford, 887
    Flugel: Ford, 925
    AP1: Ford, 1050
    syd: Ford, 756
    Ibleedbrown: Strong, 1320
    DutchOven: Chubb, 850
    mjp28: Ford, 1235

Answer: Jerome Ford lead the Browns in rushing with 565 yards. Other notables were Nick Chubb (332 yards), D'Onta Foreman (232) and Pierre Strong (108).

Winner Winner Chicken Dinner: It was RB by committee in 2024 for the Browns, but I admit, I was kind of shocked to find out that Ford had a prime Nick Chubb average per carry (5.4). With virtually the same amount of rushes as Chubb, Ford rushed for 200+ more yards as Chubb post-knee surgery. Most of us predicted Ford leading the team, but were way optimistic on the yardage. syd wins this question.

And the 'Big Dummy Award' goes to... Many thanks to Ibleedbrown for saving me from winning this dubious award! Pierre Strong was a bold choice, and Ibleedbrown is a bold man!

    9. Who leads the Browns in 2024 in receptions? How many?

    Bob806: Cooper, 75
    DBone: Cooper, 79
    SDBacker: Njoku, 72
    Flugel: Cooper, 75
    AP1: Cooper, 85
    syd: Cooper, 90
    Ibleedbrown: Thrash, 66
    DutchOven: Cooper, 80
    mjp28: Cooper, 85

Answer: Newcomer Jerry Jeudy lead the Browns with 90 receptions.

Winner Winner Chicken Dinner: Browns GM Andrew Berry might not knock your socks off drafting, but the guy can trade for veteran WRs with the best of them. A few years ago he practically stole Amari Cooper from the Cowboys in what was basically a salary dump, in the off-season prior to the 2024 season he made another shrewd move by trading for Jerry Jeudy of the Broncos. Berry wasn't planning on extending Cooper, so he just gave Jeudy an extension and traded Cooper for a third round pick from Buffalo during the season, after Cooper played with all the enthusiasm of a wet sock for the Browns. Nary a soul pegged Jeudy as the leading receiver, so no winner for this category, ONE YEAR!

And the 'Big Dummy Award' goes to... Now, a person might say all the people who picked Cooper were big dummies, but I think there's one predictor, a rather bold young lad who rose above all to grab this award with panache - Ibleedbrown with his selection of Jamari Thrash, who had all of 3 receptions!
