Myles Garrett Requests Trade

The Browns Board

  • Browns have four more seasons on the lakefront.

The first couple of those are going to be rough, because this team is being built for the future of PSL sales and building excitement for moving to the Mattress Factory of Sadness Dome in Brookpark.

    Buckle up.

I've got new respect for Njoku.

Only need a QB huh? The FO stuck Superman with the Man of Kryptonite while giving away 3 1st rounders which likely would have found that real QB somewhere in those choices with a competent FO of real football guys, not Harvard and baseball. Njoku is just blind to what they did to the Browns. I feel sorry for him, his whole team and especially for long suffering Browns fans. None of them are at fault.

Well, that and getting their injured guys back.  You can't have an OL playing with 60 pct of them being guys that were in some cases so far down the depth chart that they weren't on the team the week before.  Do we have holes to fill?  Sure, so does everybody else.  But all of the other holes to fill pale in importance to the outcome of a football game when compared to the QB position hole that we have.  That's an all hands on deck, no days off, faster - more ideas - hole to fill.

There is some agreement between Myles and the Browns front office. The trade request is to soften Browns fans for when they deal Myles.

Myles agent group is Klutch sports, Well it seems a top exec there is married to Tyler Hamblin who is the director of operations for the Browns,

I am going to  refer to this again, This was all  set up, Myles is doing the Browns a favor. OfCourse they want to trade Myles we need the assets. If the F.O just traded Myles with out him asking for a trade all hell would have broke loose, And not one of you mother fuckers can tell me any different.

    You're absolutely right.

The Browns should pull the trigger and completely rebuild, and Myles demanding a trade makes it seem like they kind of had to do it, not that they necessarily wanted to.

  • Schefter reports on The Pat McAfee Show that the Browns are “dug in” and will not entertain any trade offers for Garrett:

“We have a team here in the Cleveland Browns, I know that we get swept up in the moment, we got this Defensive Player of the Year requesting a trade out of Cleveland. This is not a surprise to the Browns. The Browns knew about his unhappiness and I think they have asked around and prepared for it. They’ve got some opinions on how to best handle this situation… I think they are dug in and entrenched in their stance that they arenot going to trade Myles Garrett.”

Teams do not trade core, foundational players. Teams do not trade future first-ballot Pro Football Hall of Famers. Garrett can continue to make this messy if he would like, but it does not look like the Browns are changing their minds.

Until a trade occurs, do not expect a trade to occur.

This is definitely not Myles taking a hit for the greater good. He's pissed about the shit they made him play through last year. I know every week they told us that Watson gave us the best chance I was furious.  Imagine how much that sucked being a coworker in a career with a short lifespan. They retooled the entire offense and fired good coaches all to cater to Watson to the detriment of all his team mates and fans.  I think this is really what's driving his desire to get out of town. That said he's under contract.  Unless someone offers the world including a stud QB you use his contract and franchise tags.

What's being built without a foundation?  Hard to remember seeing more needs than we're looking at right now at QB1, QB2, LT, LG, DE, DT, CB, SS, FS, LB, K and depth with an owner that's given tenure to the 2 Harvard Tea Sippers in charge of personnel.  And then we either have one of the worst medical/sports med staffs in the NFL or the steady volumes of injuries to key players every year are only just a big bunch of coincidences. This draft has about 3 high rated LTs coming off injury while nobody seems to be talking about the injured shoulder that kept taking Abdul Carter out of his last playoff game.  If the Browns are seriously considering any or all of these guys - it sure would be nice to have a good med/sports med staff in tact here.

As outrageous as Jerry's Palace in Dallas seems to be - he at least has 3 Super Bowl rings as an owner before that kind of football disappeared out of sight.  Those generations of fans can now take their kids or grandkids to the circus for a 3 hour show at The Palace every time the Cowboys are scheduled to play.  Even that team clobbered Jimmy's team in CLEVELAND in 2024.

Moving forward, all of the young players that this team drafts in 2025 will be playing for brand new scapegoats in 2026.  Sound like fun for the QBs that'll have to learn a current Offense only to deprogram it all for another offense and learning curve 1 year later?  We've seen this sequel countless times... Is there a cure for an owner that has no idea what he's doing?  By all means, build a palace to distract all the loyal football fans remaining here from generations of family traditions that followed this team before us.

That would crush us in dead money.  It would have to be after June 1st...which would leave us in trouble for money for  FA and the Draft.

Well a signed contract is an agreement between 2 parties.

I had season tickets, and was forced to watch DTR. Nothing I could do about it.

If the Browns give in & trade him, look out. The NFL could turn into the NBA, not good.

    They actually do.

A breach of contract leads to legal BS, no matter what side breaches it

I always looked at it as part of my entertainment budget. But this front office has taken the "entertainment" away with stupid decisions.

Right, the owners/management always have the last word.

This will get interesting. If Myles holds out from training camp, etc he won't get paid. I wonder how long this could drag out.

I wonder if this is all wink wink nudge nudge stuff, this way the front office doesn't lose face and Myles gets what he want's and so do the Browns

  • It's sad.  The two players that put the Browns on the map in a positive way, Garrett and Chubb.....seem to be slipping away...
