Myles Garrett Requests Trade

Browns have four more seasons on the lakefront.
The first couple of those are going to be rough, because this team is being built for the future of PSL sales and building excitement for moving to the Mattress Factory of Sadness Dome in Brookpark.
Buckle up.

What's being built without a foundation? Hard to remember seeing more needs than we're looking at right now at QB1, QB2, LT, LG, DE, DT, CB, SS, FS, LB, K and depth with an owner that's given tenure to the 2 Harvard Tea Sippers in charge of personnel. And then we either have one of the worst medical/sports med staffs in the NFL or the steady volumes of injuries to key players every year are only just a big bunch of coincidences. This draft has about 3 high rated LTs coming off injury while nobody seems to be talking about the injured shoulder that kept taking Abdul Carter out of his last playoff game. If the Browns are seriously considering any or all of these guys - it sure would be nice to have a good med/sports med staff in tact here.
As outrageous as Jerry's Palace in Dallas seems to be - he at least has 3 Super Bowl rings as an owner before that kind of football disappeared out of sight. Those generations of fans can now take their kids or grandkids to the circus for a 3 hour show at The Palace every time the Cowboys are scheduled to play. Even that team clobbered Jimmy's team in CLEVELAND in 2024.
Moving forward, all of the young players that this team drafts in 2025 will be playing for brand new scapegoats in 2026. Sound like fun for the QBs that'll have to learn a current Offense only to deprogram it all for another offense and learning curve 1 year later? We've seen this sequel countless times... Is there a cure for an owner that has no idea what he's doing? By all means, build a palace to distract all the loyal football fans remaining here from generations of family traditions that followed this team before us.

Loved you Myles but WTF, honor your contract.

why should he the browns fucking suck, I wouldn't want to play for them either
Well a signed contract is an agreement between 2 parties.
I had season tickets, and was forced to watch DTR. Nothing I could do about it.
If the Browns give in & trade him, look out. The NFL could turn into the NBA, not good.

Bob i like ya but no one put a gun to your head to recklessly throw away your money
If the Browns give in & trade him, look out.
I believe it has happened before and if the players got all uppity the owners could just lock them out, not many would survive, Don't forget who has all the power

I always looked at it as part of my entertainment budget. But this front office has taken the "entertainment" away with stupid decisions.

Right, the owners/management always have the last word.
This will get interesting. If Myles holds out from training camp, etc he won't get paid. I wonder how long this could drag out.

It's sad. The two players that put the Browns on the map in a positive way, Garrett and Chubb.....seem to be slipping away...

They actually do.
A breach of contract leads to legal BS, no matter what side breaches it
Ummm...players get cut all the time with years left on their contract. CLE just did it with the LS and Thornhill. So no, teams don't honor contracts either. Outside of Cousins (in MIN) and Watson there are no guaranteed contracts in the NFL. It's just one sided that teams can end the contract, not pay expected salary to player, and move on. But a player don't like what's left (years at under value pay and no guaranteed money, as one example) its honor your contract

I'm tired of these divas wanting out of their contracts two years early. You want a trade? Fine, IF it makes sense for the organization. That means a king's ransom in trade return for a player of Myles caliber. If the Browns don't get what they want, let Garrett pout and holdout.
In the real world:
"Hey boss, trade me to one of our competitors with more sales."
Boss: "No. See you Monday bright and early."

Myles is a diva ? never heard that one before. We need the frigging draft picks,Myles is not going to save this team after the #4 debacle, we need players on rookie contracts and yes it will be years untill we play at 500,unless you really think berry will hit on his draft picks ( then yes trading Myles is worth the gamble)

Ummm...I know what you're trying to say, but the contracts are structured in a way that the player still gets paid. The signing bonus is basically protection for the player in case the team wants to move on. The team releases Thornhill, he's compensated, and the team suffers some sort of cap hit.

Myles isn't going out like Joe Thomas did, and I don't blame him.
You are right, it would be best for the Browns and for Myles to trade him.
