Day 2 Friday 2025 NFL Draft

The Browns Board

  • No fullbacks are believed to be draftable this year.

It's fun that the DT at the top of the 3rd, Darius Alexander, has Ogunjobi as his NFL comp.  That's.. not great.

Who else is draftable from Iowa State? Houston's going to take them

Jobi won had his moments, l kinda liked watching the guy play. He was at his best when he would shoot a gap and disrupt things for the offense. I seem to recall he had a penchant for starting the season off on fire too, real good performances the first few games of the season. Then he would kinda level off.

Draft day fun fact, Ogunjobi was the first player ever drafted from UNC Charlotte.

  • Fannin had 117 catches for 1555 yds last year, just unreal for a TE.

Went to Canton McKinley High School, who plays their games at stadium at the Hall of Fame.

  • Milroe before Sanders.   Wowzers.

He must have rubbed all the GM's wrong.

  • Love the Fanin pick... Bout time!

After watching Tyler Warren so much, I saw a little bit of Warren in Fannin -

    get this -

in high school, Canton McKinley (here in Ohio) - he played TE, and....SAFETY !

"At Canton McKinley, Fannin was a standout on both sides of the ball, playing tight end and safety, which is where many people thought he would play at the collegiate level.

In his senior year for the Bulldogs, he had over 600 yards on 36 catches on offense, but on defense, he was next-level, amassing 106 tackles, two interceptions, six forced fumbles, four fumble recoveries, and he found the end zone twice on defense."

  • Well I'll be damned...

QB Dillon Gabriel to the Browns.

There's our young future #2 QB

  • Dillon Gabriel is a scout team QB at best.  He does not have an NFL skillset.

Given all the QB's including Shedeur still on the board, this was not the pick to make.

  • Wow, a Duck QB.

  • Gabriel was a mid day 3 eval.  Quite a bit of a reach here.

  • We were doing great until this pick. Xavier Watts, Jalen Royals, Tai Felton were there. Not a fan of a 5'11" shrimp QB.

  • Damn, I wanted Xavier Watts.

I would have been ok with Gabriel in like the 5th or 6th round.

He's a short QB.  I like tall drinks of water.  I don't dislike him.  But there were guys with more value for us rather than a QB #2 of the future.

    yeah wtf?

  • All l can figure is the Browns brain trust really likes him. He is a guy with gobs of experience and played for multiple programs, and l recall chatting with you guys speculating about how NFL teams might value all that experience. It sounds like he’s had success, but yeah, not the biggest dude.

Or his Daddy did when he started talking about it being better his son went to more established, well run teams..

It's fine if you start talking about teams that win a bit more, but you don't start pointing fingers at a teams front office since those are the people making the drafting decisions.

  • I've seen where Howard & Gabriel are not rated far apart at all.  Obviously Stef & Berry like that Gabriel gets the ball out on time.

That is the reason.  Stefanski values timing and QB's staying on script.  Was it a reach?  Probably a bit but Gabriel brings some fire.  When the little man can play with the big man, that brings some cred that players rally around.

    Think Doug Flutie.

  • I hate the Gabriel pick, why waste a 3rd round pick on a back up QB? How have other short QBs done in the AFC North?

More likely father did and no one wants the added baggage on the team telling them how to coach and use him.
