Day 3 Saturday 2025 NFL Draft
-
Nick Nash WR San Jose State at some point today.
not bad so far…two starters two rotational pieces and a lottery pick. Although that lottery pick QB could have come later

I'm disappointed that we didn't come away with a WR, OT and/or a Safety in the first two days. We have a big need at Safety...and there was one sitting there for us at #94...but instead we picked a backup QB which could've been selected today. Now we don't pick until the back end of the 4th round. I've got no hatred for Gabriel. I mean, at least he's not surrounded by a bunch of decapitated animals that we're supposed to be sharing this planet with. (my grandson and I were watching when they showed Ewers sitting in his man cave pet cemetery. I said, 'You think they're a family of hunters buddy? The eleven year old laughed.) ?

I think the issue most of us have with this draft is pretty simple - in a year with shallow QB and WR talent, all the position groups that are usually pushed down the board furthest (IDL, RB, TE) are literally all positions we've taken early.
So wanting an IDL mid first now becomes top 5. Wanting a RB top of 3 now becomes top of 2, and a TE in the start/middle of 4 becomes the back half of 3.
They're all unsexy picks and, by position value, a bit over drafted in comparison previous years. So it's even more magnified should any of these picks not work out.
The Gabriel thing makes me scratch my head. Not that he doesn't have some ability, he absolutely does. He's just undersized and his throwing motion when driving the ball vertically gets sloppy. I'm hoping this isn't the Russell Wilson effect. I wouldn't hate the pick if it was today. But you lost out on drafting other positions that could come in and contributed day 1.
That said, I see the method to improving the offense will be by fixing the running game first. Fingers crossed to see OT, DB, and maybe another IDL thrown in there.

Also didn't understand Gabriel there.

I wonder if Quinn Ewers is still sacrificing animals to the draft gods so he gets drafted?

Another Buckeye off the board, a guy I mocked for the Browns a few weeks ago (but a couple rounds lower) in LB Cody Simon. I liked him as a ILB/MLB.

One pick after the Panthers took Safety Lathan Ransom from Ohio State, the Pittsburgh Steelers select...
DE Jack Sawyer, Ohio State.
Motherfucker.

Next to OT - this FO has been pretty awful at finding good Safeties

Browns take RB Dylan Sampson, Tennessee.
The QB and RB room has been rebuilt.
