Rookies battle vs Pickett. You can stash one on protected practice squad if you want to carry 3. Or you can cut Pickett.
Options are always good and the Browns just set themselves up with options.

Honestly at #144, it's a lottery ticket.
If he causes any problems, he's a 5th round pick you cut without thinking about it. I absolutely hated the idea of taking him #2 overall, but #144?

There is a decent chance either Gabriel or Sanders becomes a wasted pick.. The Cleveland Browns are not a team that can afford to waste draft picks.

I'll say it again.....I like his 74% completion percentage last year.
I'm not going to poo-poo that, but I sometimes view gawdy completion percentages in college with a grain of salt.
How often was he throwing bubble screens and other "passes" that were glorified handoffs? I'm not saying he's overrated in this part of his game, but Brandon Weeden completed almost 70% of his passes his senior year at OK State I believe.
But I do think he's a fit with Stefanski. That makes this a pretty solid pick.

Probably. A 5th rounder is low risk on Shedeur.
It's hard to give this FO any credit, but Gabriell competing with Shedeur may be a good thing.

Ransom is more of the same at DB, same weaknesses we currently have. Burke would have been an interesting pick for nickel.
Either way, that top 100 pick on Gabriel could have been used elsewhere. He would have been available later.
And once again I'm worried about the IDL like in years past.

I'm sure the Browns had no thought that they'd take another QB but when he was still sitting there felt like they had to pull the trigger.
The Gabriel pick is the only one I don't like. I would have been ok I suppose with him in the 5th or 6th round, but I agree, there were other guys I would've taken in a second over him there.
